India is looking to acquire Uranium mining assets in Namibia.

KOLKATA: The ink is yet to dry on the Indo-US nuke deal, but the UPA government has already started scouting for uranium mining assets abroad. The first place being explored is Namibia, which caters to 6-8% of the world's uranium oxide requirement.

This was confirmed by a senior member of the Union Cabinet associated with the process. From India's point of view, the development is historic in the sense that this will be the country's maiden entry as a buyer in the world uranium market after the Pokhran test of May 2004, following which all kinds of procurement sanctions were slapped vis-a-vis nuclear technology and fissile materials.

Simultaneously, the government is also considering a policy change in order to facilitate the acquisition of foreign mines to procure uranium abroad.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has asked the external affairs ministry to arrange a trip to Namibia along with officials from the ministry of mines to scout for uranium mining assets in the uranium-rich African country.
"The government is also considering a policy change in order to facilitate the acquisition of foreign mines to procure foreign uranium. Although a final decision is yet to be taken, the necessary process has already begun," Cabinet sources said.

Officials from the Department of Atomic Energy said: “Such visits will now become quite regular since the deal has already been signed. India is now free to acquire mining assets from other countries, process the fissile material and bring it back to India for consumption in nuclear power reactors."

Namibia was chosen for its vast reserves of uranium and its long standing relation with India. India had, in fact, been at the vanguard of Namibia's liberation movement. Now, it seems, it's payback time for Namibia.
India took the lead in supporting the Namibian liberation struggle and provided all possible moral, material and diplomatic support to the Namibian leadership in exile.

The Indian assistance covered training, medicines, humanitarian relief. Besides implementing the Africa fund, India also contributed to the Special NAM Fund for Namibia, the NAM Solidarity Fund for Namibia and the Commonwealth Special Training Programme for Namibia.

Namibia, which borders South Africa, Botswana, Angola and the South Atlantic Ocean, is one of the world's key uranium producers. The country offers uranium mines on 100% ownership basis. The fissile material constitutes about 10% of the country's exports.

Interestingly, the Namibian government recently licensed its third uranium mine to French nuclear reactor builder Areva. According to reports, Areva will produce between 2.3 million and 3.6 million kg of uranium oxide a year over nine years

Die spekulationen über die eventuelle höhe des übernahmebetrages von forsys wird wohl moch manches posting einnehmen. Jedoch was bisher kaum diskutiert wurde, ist der umstand der übernahme. Angenommen es käme zu einer einigung zwischen den parteien ( Forsys -> areva oder forsys -> cameco oder Forsys -> inder oder forsys -> forest ) bedeutet dies nicht gleichzeitig das diese unumstößlich wäre. Denn ein übernanhmeangebot wird erst rechtskräftig, wenn die mehrheit der aktionäre es angenommen hat. Das die mehrheit der aktionäre nicht zum schleuderpreis ihre aktien abgeben werden, steht auch fest. Des weiteren hat das managment auch ein interesse das die aktionäre einer übernahme positiv gegenüber stehen. Denn meistens springt für das managment im "neuen" unternehmen auch mancher posten ab, immerhin sind diese auch mit den gegebenheiten vertraut. Aus meiner sicht, wird das managment nicht forsys zu einem schleuderpreis verhökern, weil sie interesse haben werden, dass die aktionäre der übernahme zustimmen sollen. Somit würden die aktionäre einen guten schnitt machen und das managment würden neben der einnahme durch den verkauf ihrer aktien höchstwahrscheinlich einen neuen vielversprechenden posten in dem unternehmen bekommen, wobei dann sie wieder zugriff auf aktienoptionen hätten. Ich glaube nicht, dass eine mehrheit von den aktionären einem preis von unter 7c$ zustimmen würde. Dadurch hätten sie keinen finanziellen nutzen und das zählt bei jedem aktionär. Außerdem gibt es von verschiedenen seiten meldungen, wo es heißt die oder jene hätten interesse an einen uran explorer in namibia, davon gibt es nicht viele und schon gar nicht mit einer gültigen abbaulizens für die nächsten 25 jahre.

Forsys hat die MA 200 und 100 bereits wieder von unten nach oben durchstoßen. Auch die Mid Line des Bollinger Bandes konnte wieder gekreuzt werden.

De facto, nach L&S mit 2,98 Euro, konnte auch die MA 38 mit 2,95 Euro schon wieder von unten nach oben durchkreutzt werden.

Der Parabolic SAR hat auch wieder ein Kaufsignal gegeben. Auch weitere technische Indikatoren sehen wieder wesentlich besser aus.

Fazit: Forsys hat sich technisch wieder stark erholt !

 

Der deutsche Ausstieg aus der Kernenergie hat laut einer OECD-Studie kaum Auswirkungen auf den neuen weltweiten Boom der Technologie. Im Jahr 2050 werden weltweit bis zu 1400 Reaktoren Strom liefern, sagte Hans G. Riotte von der OECD-Kernenergie-Agentur NEA am Donnerstag in Paris.

aber vielleicht kommn die nicht, bevor sich der Markt besser stabilisiert hat.
Ich habe heute mit einigen risikoreichen Aktien wieder erhebliche "Abgänge", es rappelt also weiter im Karton.
Ich persönlich sehe auch an den verhaltenen Umsätzen, dass viele nur in Lauerstellung sitzen, aber noch nicht so richtig einsteigen.  

430000 stückchen zu 4,64 hat sich da jemand gegönnt!

Hi Enis26, dass ist wirklich nicht schlecht 430000 stk., da weiss einer scheinbar etwas mehr als wir.
Aber was ist mit deinem chart los, wir stehen doch schon über 4,70 !!!  

ich weiß nicht woran das liegt!  schönen abend noch allen!

Windhoek. — Canadian uranium producer Forsys Metals Corp this week entered into exclusive negotiations regarding the potential sale of the company, which is exploring for uranium in Namibia.

Primarily listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and with a secondary listing on the Namibian bourse, Forsys Metals said it has appointed CIBC World Markets Inc as its financial advisor in connection with the process.

The company did not give details on the potential sale.

Forsys Metals, an emerging uranium producer, wholly owns Valencia uranium project in Namibia.

The company, in addition, has an extensive portfolio of uranium exploration projects totalling over 252 000 ha located in Namibia.

News of the potential sale of the uranium junior was received well on the Toronto bourse with shares of the company soaring by 53 percent Tuesday to around C$3.83 per share.

Forsys Metals' Valencia uranium project in Namibia is on course to come on stream in 2010.

Bruce Hall, communications manager for Forsys Metals told The Southern Times from Canada that no decision has been made yet to sale the company.

"We haven't made a decision yet, it just looks like somebody has gone out shopping and we are going to listen to what they are saying," said Hall, who added that the decision to sale rests squarely on the shareholders.

Based on the share price, Forsys Metals Corp is valued at between C$350 million to C$400 million, Hall said.

He added that exploration for more ore deposit at its Valencia deposit has moved a gear up. Hall said that the company has started receiving equipment on site for the mining plant, adding that mine commissioning is on target for 2010.
