Bowdens Silver Project Update
Silver Mines Limited (“Silver Mines” or the “Company”) is pleased to provide an update in
relation to the Company’s Development Application (“DA”) for its Bowdens Silver Project
("Bowdens Project").
Following on from the Company’s announcement on 27 May 2025, the Company is pleased
to advise that it has now provided all information requested by the New South Wales
Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (“DPHI”) to assist with the redetermination
of the DA.
Since the August 2024 NSW Court of Appeal decision to void the Bowdens Project SSD-5765
Approval, the Company has been working tirelessly to prepare and finalise all required
information for the redetermination of the DA. The Company has also been actively working
with other regulatory bodies in relation to the Bowdens Project.
Silver Mines Managing Director, Mr Jo Battershill said: “We are very pleased to have finalised
our response to the DPHI’s request for information. With the provision of all required
information to the DPHI, we have reached a pivotal stage in advancing the Bowdens Silver
Project. We have worked diligently with the DPHI, government departments and other key
stakeholders to ensure a robust, comprehensive and compelling application.
This is an important step forward for both Silver Mines and the broader regional community
that stands to benefit from this world-class development. We remain confident in the strength
of the Bowdens Project and are fully committed to seeing it through to final approval and
realising the benefits to the state and local community.”
The Bowdens Project is located in central New South Wales, approximately 26 kilometres east
of Mudgee and is Australia’s largest undeveloped silver deposit and one of the largest globally.
The Bowdens Silver Project is estimated to create over 320 jobs during construction and over
220 ongoing jobs, delivering significant long-term economic and social benefits for the State
of New South Wals and the local communities across the Mid-Western Regional Council area.
The Company will continue to provide regular updates on its progress in achieving
reinstatement of the development consent of the Bowdens Silver Project.
This announcement has been authorised for release to the ASX by the Company's Board of
Directors.
