IPG Photonics Reports Preliminary Fourth Quarter 2016 Financial Results in Advance of Photonics West Conference Expects to Report Record Revenue of $1 Billion for 2016 and $280 Million for Q4 Driven by Strength in Materials Processing Sales OXFORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IPG Photonics Corporation (NASDAQ: IPGP) today reported preliminary financial results for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2016. For the fourth quarter, IPG expects to report revenue of approximately $280 million compared with the previously guided range of $255 million to $270 million, and earnings per diluted share in the range of $1.39 to $1.42, including a benefit of $0.02 from foreign exchange, compared with previous guidance of between $1.17 and $1.32 per diluted share. As IPG Photonics' year-end audit is not complete, these preliminary results are subject to adjustments from the audit. The Company is issuing preliminary results in advance of the Photonics West Conference. The Q4 earnings announcement will take place on February 14, 2017. Management Comments "We expect to report another quarter of record revenue and earnings, with full-year revenue exceeding $1 billion for the first time," said Dr. Valentin Gapontsev, IPG Photonics' Chief Executive Officer. OXFORD, Mass. (AP) _ IPG Photonics Corp. (IPGP) on Friday reported fourth-quarter profit of $53 million.
On a per-share basis, the Oxford, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of 96 cents. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses, came to $1.86 per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.72 per share.
The high-powered laser maker posted revenue of $361.1 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $347.2 million.
For the year, the company reported profit of $347.6 million, or $6.36 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.41 billion.
For the current quarter ending in April, IPG said it expects revenue in the range of $330 million to $355 million. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $330.9 million.

OXFORD, Mass. (AP) _ IPG Photonics Corp. (IPGP) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $55.2 million.
The Oxford, Massachusetts-based company said it had profit of $1.02 per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.04 per share.
The high-powered laser maker posted revenue of $315 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $304.5 million.
For the current quarter ending in July, IPG said it expects revenue in the range of $340 million to $370 million. Analysts surveyed by Zacks had expected revenue of $331.2 million.
IPG shares have climbed 53% since the beginning of the year. The stock has declined 18% in the last 12 months.
