Parker Drilling Co. said Monday that it swung to a first-quarter profit on higher use of land and offshore oil rigs.
The contract drilling tools and service provider reported a quarterly income of $3.9 million, or 4 cents per share, compared with a loss of $4.9 million, or 5 cents per share, a year ago. Results included a charge of 1 cent per share for the early retirement of debt.
Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial expected earnings per share of 1 cent.
Revenue rose 32 percent to $120.2 million from $90.9 million last year as the average use of international land rigs rose to 67 percent for the first quarter from 46 percent last year, and average use of Gulf of Mexico barge rigs rose to 77 percent from 62 percent a year ago.

im Februar habe ich welche gekauft, für etwas über 9 USD, der Absturz auf unter 6,5 USD im Mai/Juni war ohne Nachrichten zum Unternehmen, praktisch grundlos, genauso wie der Anstieg jetzt auf etwas über 9 USD, ich bin jetzt fast wieder +/- 0. Ich bleibe weiter drin, da ich die Branche weiterhin für sehr attraktiv halte und PKD eine der am günstigsten bewerteten Aktien in der Branche ist.

Anfang Novmber gab es ganz gute Zahlen, sonst keine Meldungen, vielleicht habe ich ja Glück und jemand kauft ein Paket zusammen und dann kommt eine Übernahmeangebot für ... sag wir mal großzügig 15 USD
