- Einigung Moore Leckrone
- unaufhaltssam voranschreitendes ITC Prozedere
- keine weitere technische Klärung in Sachen ITC 12 nötig

(PRWEB) January 31, 2013

Leading Protected Distribution Systems manufacturers Fiber SenSys, Inc. and Holocom announced today that the U.S Navy and Army successfully evaluated the new HC508 and SL508 Alarm Processor Units (APU's) in San Diego, CA.

The tests were performed by members of the U.S. Navy/SPAWAR and U.S. Army CTTA offices and relate directly to technology solutions for Protected Distribution Systems (PDS).

"Enhanced PDS protection requirements for the federal market represents an opportunity to offer security solutions designed with cost savings and efficiency in mind," said Ed Tapanes, FSI CEO. "We are pleased to be engaged with the DOD Certifying Authorities for this important product evaluation," Tapanes added.

The 508 was tested with four cable carriers comprising Holocom 2" x 2" two-piece Secure Raceway, Holocom solid tube Secure Mini Dukt™, one-inch steel EMT and flexible interlocking armored fiber-optic cable.

The Fiber SenSys/Holocom co-branded HC508 and Fiber SenSys SL508 provide an additional layer of protection to hardened carrier protective distribution systems for government and other high-security networks. The 1U 508 fits a standard size rack and is capable of protecting eight zones of fiber optic or copper cable infrastructure. Each zone consists of single-strand sensing cable design, eliminating the need for loop-back cable in the cable carrier. The system also includes enhanced tuning and calibration software for the elimination of nuisance alarms.

Individuals requiring approvability for specific Protected Distribution Systems projects should contact the appropriate service CTTA office.

Pursuant  to the Program Agreement, PDS has engaged Alliacense to negotiate  licenses of certain microprocessor science and design patents  (“Patents”) and to pursue claims against violators of the Patents, in  each case, on behalf of PDS, TPL, and the Company. The Program Agreement  continues through the useful life of the Patents, which is defined as  the greater of the period of time when any of the Patents are no longer  subject to legal protection or such Patents are reasonably perceived to  have commercial value. Pursuant to the TPL Agreement, TPL and the  Company agreed to certain allocations of obligations in connection with  the engagement of Alliacense.

In July 2012, Technology Properties Limited, Phoenix Digital Solutions LLC, and Patriot Scientific Corporation filed a complaint against us for patent infringement in the United States International Trade Commission and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The complaints allege, among other things, that using the Kindle Fire in combination with certain peripheral devices infringes U.S. Patent No. 5,809,336, entitled “High Performance Microprocessor Having Variable Speed System Clock.” The ITC complaint seeks an exclusion order preventing the importation of Kindle Fire into the United States. The district court complaint asserts infringement of two additional patents—U.S. Patent Nos. 5,440,749 and 5,530,890, both entitled “High Performance, Low Cost Microprocessor Architecture”—and seeks an unspecified amount of damages, enhanced damages, attorneys’ fees, interest, and an injunction. In a November 2012 letter to the Company plaintiff alleged specifically that, if we are found to infringe the patents-in-suit and the patents are found to be valid (both of which we dispute), Amazon and its affiliates should pay damages of approximately $42 million, subject to enhancement, plus $17 million in prejudgment interest. We dispute the allegations of wrongdoing and intend to vigorously defend ourselves in this matter.
