competitors

Rakuten Edy is Rakuten’s flag-bearer in the e-money world. Many of the competing e-money services in Japan originated from a specific business, such as a convenience store chain or a railway network, but Rakuten Edy’s relative neutrality when it comes to brands has meant that over the past 16 years it has built up a broad-reaching client base that covers more locations than any of its competitors.

“Rakuten Edy is also extremely convenient for users of other Rakuten services,” says Matsuda. The service can be integrated into users’ Rakuten Card credit cards, and it can be used to earn and exchange Rakuten Super Points, which can be used at a wide range of services within the Rakuten Ecosystem.

Matsuda believes that synergy will help Rakuten Edy continue to grow. And, likewise, he thinks the future of e-money in general looks good. “5 trillion might sound like a large number, but that’s just a small drop in a pool of the approximately 300 trillion yen spent by consumers annually,” he says. “E-money still has a long way to go.”

Marketers have already claimed that 2017 is going to be the year of the bot, so much so that some predict that by the end of 2017, only about one-third of all customer-service queries will require the attention of an actual human representative of a company.
Since we believe that chatbots are indeed the future, we’ve decided to share with you the top quality chatbots now available on Viber’s Public Accounts. Check them out, get answers to your questions, advice and insights, and have fun!

Rakuten LIFULL STAY to Begin Accepting Registrations of Properties on New Vacation Rental Platform
01/17/2018

Tokyo, January 17, 2018 – Rakuten LIFULL STAY, Inc., a Rakuten Group company providing vacation rental services, today announced it will begin accepting registrations of domestic vacation rental properties on “Vacation STAY,” its tentatively titled vacation rental website, from March 15, 2018, ahead of the enactment of the Private Lodgings Business Law on June 25, 2018.* From the same day, property owners will be able to register as vacation rental operators under the law.

Rakuten LIFULL STAY also announced that from September 2018, domestic vacation rental properties listed on the Vacation STAY site will be made available for booking through Rakuten Travel, the Rakuten, Inc.-run travel booking service that is one of the largest in Japan. This will make it possible for domestic users to compare vacation rental properties with the hotels, inns, business hotels and hostels listed on Rakuten Travel, and select the accommodation that best suits their needs. By providing a highly convenient service meeting the increasingly diverse needs of travelers, Rakuten Travel aims to make Japan a more attractive tourist destination.

Most of the private rideshare company's financials are kept hidden from the public eye. What we do know is that Lyft so far raised $4.2 billion from private investor sources and in the first quarter of 2017 made $483million which is a significant rise when compared to the $150 million they made in the first quarter of 2016.

Japan looks to double cashless payments in 10 years
Push aimed at accommodating foreigners, encouraging spending

The government aims to broaden the acceptance of mobile and other cashless payments.
TOKYO -- Cash-heavy Japan aims to double digital payments to 40% in the next decade by helping metropolitan-area businesses afford cashless services to better attract foreign visitors and open their wallets.

The goal, set by the Financial Services Agency and the industry ministry, will be part of a plan to promote fintech, the intersection of finance and information technology, in a growth strategy to be compiled in June. The move is also a step toward better accommodating foreign tourists, with an eye toward the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Japan's current 19% rate of cashless payments is less than half the over-50% level seen in nations including South Korea and China, but the targeted 40% rate would put it roughly on par with the U.S.

wo Rakuten eine maßgebliche Beteiligung hält.

https://www.techinasia.com/facebook-marketplace-sg
