The Fuel Cell Technologies Office (FCTO) of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) reports that it is offering research opportunities through the EERE Science and Technology Policy (STP) Fellowships Program.
FCTO fellowships provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and researchers to participant in projects that support hydrogen and fuel cell activities as identified in The Fuel Cell Technologies Office Multi-Year Research, Development, and Demonstration (MYRD&D) Plan. All fellows will be assigned to policy-related projects and mentored by senior EERE staff.
The Fuel Cell Technologies Office (FCTO), situated within Energy Department's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), addresses key technical challenges for fuel cells and hydrogen production, delivery, and storage and the institutional barriers, such as hydrogen codes and standards, training, and public awareness that inhibit the widespread commercialization of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.
Fellows are expected to be onsite with the program office in Washington, DC. Fellows will receive competitive stipends that are commensurate with qualifications. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis at energy.gov/eere/education/energy-efficiency-and-renewable-energy-science-and-technology-policy-fellowships.
The DOE is seeking talented and committed individuals to assist the FCTO in implementing R&D efforts to realize the full potential of hydrogen and fuel cells, encompassing storage, production, delivery, R&D, codes and standards, market transformation, technology validation, systems analysis and manufacturing.
The STP Fellowships are for two years. The initial appointment period is one year. The extension of the appointment will be subject to satisfactory progress toward completion of project assignments, and availability of funds.
After Hours ging ja schon gut nach Oben.

South Korean steelmaker POSCO has established a new subsidiary for clean energy, which it has picked as a future growth engine.
POSCO Green Gas Technology Co will produce synthetic natural gas from feedstock such as lignite coal or biomass. The company claims this is cheaper to produce than liquefied natural gas (LNG), although it should be noted that LNG prices in the country are among the world’s highest.
According to Yonhap the company plans to complete the construction of a plant with an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons in August and start operation from January next year. This will replace 200 billion won (USD188 million) a year of LNG imports, the company said.
Leider wieder tief rot.
