Vuzix Corp. announced a joint collaboration agreement with Uvex Safety Group GmbH & Co. KG, Germany.

According to a release, both companies will explore marketing and co-development efforts utilizing Vuzix experience and IP in optics and wearable technology and Uvex Safety Group GmbH & Co. KG's experience and IP for personal protective eyewear; with a goal to advance the current state of Smart Glasses technology and develop integrated solutions for enterprise users. As a first effort, Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses will be bundled with a pair of Vuzix branded i3 safety glasses and custom mounting hardware for using the M100 on either the left or right eye which is designed and manufactured by Uvex Safety Group GmbH & Co KG, Germany.

"The current Smart Glasses revolution is bringing companies together that hold significant IP in their respective industries," said Vuzix President and CEO Paul Travers. "Uniquely in this case, many of the enterprise and medical market customers for Vuzix M100 Smart Glasses require safety glasses of some type. Recently Vuzix announced availability of the Smart Glasses M100. Designed to run applications in standalone operation or connected to the internet, the M100 works in harmony with your smartphone to open a plethora of existing and future applications.
