Canada Zinc Metals Intersects High Grade Zinc Mineralisation including 17.06% Zn+Pb over 12.98 Metres in First Hole of the 2015 Drill Program
Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) - Canada Zinc Metals Corp. (TSX Venture Exchange: CZX) is pleased to announce that assays results have been received from the first two drill holes of the 2015 Akie drill program. The Company previously announced plans for 5,000 metres of large-diameter HQ diamond drilling on the property focused on resource expansion down-dip of the current indicated resource and expansion of the robust and high-grade zinc-lead-silver system in the central core of the Cardiac Creek deposit (see Press Release dated May 12, 2015).
The Company owns 100% of eleven, large, contiguous property blocks that comprise the Akie and Kechika Regional projects. The Company’s flagship Akie Project is host to the Cardiac Creek deposit. The Kechika Regional Project includes the Pie, Yuen, Cirque East and Mt. Alcock properties extending northwest from the Akie property for approximately 140 kilometres along the strike of the highly prospective Gunsteel Formation shale; the main host rock for known SEDEX zinc-lead-silver deposits in the Kechika Trough of northeastern British Columbia. These projects are located approximately 260 kilometres north northwest of the town of Mackenzie, British Columbia, Canada.
2015 Drill Assay Results
Results have been received from the first two drill holes totaling 1,107 metres of a planned 5,000 metre drill program. Results from three additional holes are currently pending. The program is expected to continue into September with several more planned drill holes to be completed.
A-15-121
Drill hole A-15-121 targeted the high grade core of the Cardiac Creek deposit with the intended pierce point located approximately 75 metres down-dip of the high grade holes A-05-32, A-07-50, and A-07-53. Previously reported results from these hole include; 26.70 metres of 14.69% Zn+Pb in A-05-32, 29.40 metres of 15.78% Zn+Pb in A-07-50, and 16.23 metres of 15.15% Zn+Pb in A-07-53. The objective of this target was to expand the known high grade mineralisation down-dip and the limits of the 5% Zn cut-off indicated resource.
The hole collared into typical black, siliceous Gunsteel Formation shale with several intervals of distal mineralisation consisting of laminar pyrite and nodular barite. The hole transitioned into a broad zone of Gunsteel Formation shale interbedded with increasing amounts of proximal facies mineralisation at a depth of 401.85 metres. The proximal facies mineralisation is characterised by thick beds of very fine grained, laminar pyrite interbedded with occasional bands of very fine grained, grey sphalerite.
The Cardiac Creek Zone was intersected at a downhole depth of 433.87 metres and continued to 483.32 metres. The zone is characterised by very thick sulphide beds consisting primarily of fine to very fine grained grey sphalerite, galena and pyrite laminations. Higher grade sections of individual sulphide beds display a mottled texture comprised of sphalerite, galena, quartz and barite. The high grade nature of the Cardiac Creek Zone, as indicated by the mottling textures observed within the mineralisation, was the intended target for this drill hole.
Underlying the Cardiac Creek Zone is a strongly mineralised Footwall Zone (FW), intersected from 493.08 to 508.48 metres, and consisting of interbedded sphalerite and galena-enriched, mottled sulphide beds and massive granular barite with minor quartz-carbonate veining. Underlying the Footwall Zone are several beds of massive barite with laminar pyrite and sphalerite enrichment interbedded with shale that extends to 523.06 metres.
A 12.46 metre thick massive sulphide lens (MS) was intersected from 523.06 to 535.52 metres comprised primarily of bright brassy yellow pyrite. Central to this sulphide lens is a zone enriched with carbonate and pink to grey sphalerite with galena enrichment. The massive sulphide lens graded into a debris flow cemented by bright brassy yellow pyrite. The hole continued into typical basement lithologies and was shut down at a depth of 554.17 metres.
The entire mineralized interval extending from 419.16 to 531.00 metres returned 7.34% combined Zn+Pb and 14.24 g/t Ag over a true width of 64.29 metres. The Cardiac Creek Zone, Footwall Zone and the massive sulphide lens are contained within this extensive envelope of mineralisation. The results from these zones are tabulated below and include 28.51 metres (true width) of 10.22% Zn, 2.34% Pb and 20.45 g/t Ag for a total of 12.56% combined Zn+Pb from the Cardiac Creek zone. Also included within this mineralized interval was 12.98 metres ( true width) of 13.83% Zn , 3.23% Pb and 28.98 g/t Ag for a total of 17.06% combined Zn + Pb. The Footwall zone (FW) returned 8.86 metres (true width) of 8.88% Zn, 1.36% Pb, and 21.51 g/t Ag for a total of 10.24% combined Zn+Pb. The extremely high grade character of the Cardiac Creek and Footwall Zone is evident. Assay results from the zone returned a total of 38 samples grading >10% Zn of which 8 samples, representing an aggregate core length of 5.41 metres, returned values >20% Zn. Lead grades are equally significant with values reaching 6.34% and silver grades reaching 51.5 g/t. Select results are tabulated below.
A-15-122
Drill hole A-15-122 targeted the lateral strike extents of the high grade core within the Cardiac Creek deposit with the intended pierce point located between holes A-07-48 and A-08-65 and along strike of A-07-51 with an approximate separation of 75 metres. Previously reported results from these surrounding holes included: 7.04 metres (core length) of 10.14% Zn+Pb in A-07-48, 24.54 metres (core length) of 15.49% Zn+Pb in A-07-51, and 17.82 metres (true width) of 11.77% Zn+Pb in A-08-65.
From the collar to a depth of 417.18 metres the hole intersected several intervals of distal mineralisation consisting of very fine grained, laminar pyrite and nodular barite interbedded with black shale. The proximal facies mineralisation was intersected from 417.18 to 487.22 metres and consisted of up to 30 centimetre thick beds of dominantly very fine grained, laminar pyrite, minor nodular barite and rare bands of very fine grained sphalerite. The Cardiac Creek Zone was present from 488.97 to 516.50 metres with a shale interbed from 495.32 to 497.70 metres. Mineralisation is characterised by thick sulphide beds comprised of very fine grained, grey sphalerite, cream colored sphalerite and mottle textured quartz – carbonate – sphalerite – galena. Galena is disseminated within grey sphalerite and mottled mineralisation. The hole was shut down in calcareous siltstone of the Road River Group at a depth of 553.21 meters.
A broad envelope of mineralisation is present from 474.45 to 519.30 metres and returned 6.87% combined Zn+Pb and 11.16 g/t Ag over a true width of 39.16 metres. The Cardiac Creek zone returned 10.31% combined Zn+Pb and 14.64 g/t Ag over a true width of 23.36 metres including 12.35 metres (true width) grading 13.62% combined Zn+Pb and 17.92 g/t Ag. These high grade intervals are outlined in the table below. Hole A-15-122 continues to demonstrate the high grade character within the core of the deposit. A total of 16 samples representing an aggregate core length of 12.72 metres returned assays >10% Zn with grades reaching 19.13% Zn. The lead and silver grades are also significant with assays reaching 3.46% Pb and 26.7 g/t Ag.
Peeyush Varshney, President and CEO of the Company stated, "We are excited to announce new drilling results from the Cardiac Creek deposit. The results from hole A-15-121 continue to expand the known high-grade mineralisation within the core of the deposit by approximately 70 metres down-dip of the current limits.”
Mr. Varshney continued, “Assays from the first 2 holes of the 2015 exploration drill program continue to confirm our understanding that the high grade core of the deposit continues laterally and at depth. We are excited to report the results from both holes and especially A-15-121 which returned one of the best intercepts ever obtained from drilling on the deposit.”
QA/QC
Canada Zinc Metals has implemented a rigorous quality assurance/quality control program at the Akie property using best industry practices. All drill core is logged for geology, structure, veining, alteration, mineralisation, and RQD. Sections of sulphide mineralisation are marked for sampling by a geologist and a series of standards, duplicates and blanks are inserted into the sample stream for QA/QC purposes. Prior to the cutting of samples, all core boxes are photographed for due diligence and record keeping purposes. The samples are split by a diamond saw, tagged and bagged and forwarded to Acme Labs (a Bureau Veritas Group Company) of Vancouver, BC, for analysis. Documentation recording the chain of custody is kept for each shipment.
Assays for zinc, lead and silver are obtained using Acme Labs AQ270 analytical package with sample digestion using aqua regia solution followed by ICP-ES and ICP-MS analyses. Barium content is determined by Acme Labs LF300 analytical package using LiBO2/LiB4O7 fusion and ACS grade nitric acid followed by ICP-ES analysis. Overlimit values of lead and zinc are rerun using Bureau Veritas AQ371 analytical package using a hot aqua regia solution followed by ICP-ES analyses. Check assays on drill pulps are routinely conducted by ALS Minerals of North Vancouver, BC with their OG46 analytical package using aqua regia digestion and ICP-ES analysis. All remaining drill core is stored at the Akie exploration camp.
The Akie Zn-Pb-Ag Project
The Akie property is situated within the Kechika Trough, the southernmost area of the regionally extensive Paleozoic Selwyn Basin, one of the most prolific sedimentary basins in the world for the occurrence of SEDEX zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits.
Drilling on the Akie property by Canada Zinc Metals since 2005 has identified a significant body of baritic-zinc-lead-silver SEDEX mineralisation known as the Cardiac Creek deposit. The deposit is hosted by siliceous, carbonaceous, fine grained clastic rocks of the Middle to Late Devonian Gunsteel Formation.
The Company has outlined a NI 43-101 compliant mineral resource at Cardiac Creek, including an indicated resource of 12.7 million tonnes grading 8.4% zinc, 1.7% lead and 13.7 g/t silver (at a 5% zinc cut-off grade) and an inferred resource of 16.3 million tonnes grading 7.4% zinc, 1.3% lead and 11.6 g/t silver (at a 5% zinc cut-off grade).

wäre das Management ...also die 3Vs... klüger gewesen, hätten sie schon vor jahren das gute Angebot eines des größten minenunternehmen nordamerikas angenommen... die produktion wäre gerade am laufen, die aktie stünde mind. 10 mal höher...
so ist das, wenn die 3Vs so gierig sind... und am ende ganz pleite, ohne geld, ohne cz...
die Aktie ist gerade für 12c zu kriegen... ich steige wieder bei <8c ein, wie ich schon sagte... und das Risiko wäre trotzdem groß
nachdem ja die ersten (besten) Bohrergebnisse kaum Beachtung fanden und auch die Ankündigung der Veröffentlichung der VTEM-Daten vom Markt nicht gewürdigt wurden kann ich mir nur Vorstellen dass der Markt auf Fakten warten. Ohne neue Ressourcenberechnung, PEA, usw. wird hier nicht viel passieren. Schade aber das Management verbockts halt... Wenn ich schon wieder höre, dass die VTEM Daten hervorragende Ziele erkennen ließen auf denen nun gebohrt werden kann.... Da kann ich mich schon jetzt drauf einstellen dass ich die Aktien menen Enkeln vererbe!
Der Zinkpreis (der ja auf den Kurs von CZX keinerlei Einfluss hat) steht nach wie vor nicht im Verhältnis zum Lagerbestand.
Warum sich der Lagerbestand so stark erhöht hat, ist hier ganz gut erklärt:
Zink gab gestern von allen Industriemetallen am stärksten nach und fiel vorübergehend auf ein 2½-Wochentief von 1.700 USD je Tonne. In den Lagerhäusern der LME kam es gestern erneut zu einem starken Aufbau der Zinkvorräte. Diese stiegen um 4% bzw. 23,4 Tsd. Tonnen auf ein 7½-Monatshoch von über 617 Tsd. Tonnen. Bereits am Vortag kam es zu einem Anstieg um 22 Tsd. Tonnen.
Seit dem mehrjährigen Tief am 10. August wurden die LME-Zinkvorräte um 45% bzw. gut 190 Tsd. Tonnen aufgestockt. Hierbei dürfte es sich meist um Material handeln, das zuvor außerbörslich gelagert wurde. Der Aufbau erfolgte dabei fast ausschließlich in den LME-Lagerhäusern in New Orleans in den USA, die von Pacorini Metals betrieben werden.
Pacorini gehört zu Glencore, einem der weltweit größten Rohstoffhändler und -produzenten. Die Einlieferung von so viel Material innerhalb dieses kurzen Zeitraums deutet unseres Erachtens auf Finanztransaktionen hin. So ist die Terminkurve von Zink am vorderen Ende zuletzt wieder steiler geworden, was die Attraktivität von Finanztransaktionen erhöht.
Meine Meinung:Aber auch diese Lagerhäuser sind mal leer. Die 190 Tausend Tonnen sind in einem Quartal verbraucht. Langfristig gesehen passt das schon alles....
Weiterhin:
Surging stockpiles of zinc, the metal used to galvanize steel, are signaling ample supplies and pushed prices lower for a fourth straight session.
Inventories monitored by the London Metal Exchange jumped 7.9 per cent in two days, the biggest such gain in almost four weeks. The hoard reached 617,325 metric tons on Tuesday, the highest since February. Stockpiles have increased by 45 per cent since touching a five-year low on August 10. The gains come amid concerns that demand is slowing in China, the world's biggest metals consumer.
"Lower anticipated demand from Chinese economic weakness has reduced pressure for material in the near term," Tai Wong, the director of commodity products trading at BMO Capital Markets in New York, said in a telephone interview. "And when you see a big stock build like that in the short term, it has a fairly strong negative correlation to prices."
Zinc for delivery in three months fell 0.8 per cent to close at $US1738 a ton at 5.50pm on the LME, after reaching $US1698, the lowest since August 27. Four days of losses is the longest streak since August 3.

Also on the LME, aluminum and tin fell, while copper, nickel and lead rose. Copper futures for December delivery climbed 0.9 per cent to $US2.4265 on the Comex in New York. The Bloomberg Industrial Metals Subindex has tumbled 18 per cent this year on oversupply concerns.
Metals producers have been punished because of declining prices. The Bloomberg World Mining Index fell as much as 2.2 per cent on Tuesday as shares of Glencore sank to a record low. The company has erased the gains it made earlier this month on a $US10 billion debt-reduction plan designed to reassure investors amid mounting concern over the commodity trader and miner's borrowing load.

da tut sich ja echt einiges...
Glencores Ankündigung, dass die Zink-Fördermenge gekürzt wird, hat Zink zum grössten Kurssprung seit vier Jahren verholfen. Das Metall, das unter anderem in der Automobilindustrie für den Schutz vor Korrosion verwendet wird, verteuerte sich um bis zu 6,6 Prozent auf 1777 Dollar je Tonne.
Damit lag der Preis aber immer noch rund ein Drittel unter seinem Niveau vom Jahresbeginn. Glencore hatte angekündigt, künftig 500'000 Tonnen weniger Zink fördern zu wollen. Das entspricht in etwa vier Prozent der Weltproduktion.
Übrige Industriemetalle im Plus
«Damit die Zink-Rally nachhaltig wird, müssen aber ein oder zwei weitere diesem Beispiel folgen», betonte Analyst Daniel Hynes von der Australia New Zealand Bank.
Im Windschatten von Zink legten auch die übrigen Industriemetalle zu. Kupfer verteuerte sich um drei Prozent auf 5287 Dollar. Die in Hongkong gehandelten Titel von Glencore gewannen 0,7 Prozent.
Im Peak über 8% plus... WOW!!
Ich denke das der Zinkpreis auf kurz oder lang noch richtig Potential hat...
Die Erhöhung der Lagerbestände an der LME rührte auch von GLencore. Die haben Ihre eigenen Lagerbestände bereinigt und an die LME übertragen. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen dass wir zum Jahresende wieder einen Lagerbestand von ca. 400.000t haben und einen Zinkpreis von über 2100$
Alle schreien auf dass China kaum mehr Wachstum vorweisen kann... Hallo 5,8% ist ein Wachstum und wo Wachstum ist, wird auch gebaut. Ergo wird auch Zink benötigt...
Problematisch hier ist nur dass China auch genügend eigene Minen aufgebaut hat und vom Weltmarkt weniger Zink kauft.
Wie sich dass allerdings auf unsere geliebte CZX auswirkt... erstmal gar nicht.
Hier geht es erst weiter wenn:
- eine neue Ressourcenschätzung vorliegt
- eine PEA vorliegt
- eine beglaubigte CAPEX-Schätzung da ist
- das Management ernst macht und die Mine(n) selbt in Produktion bringen will.
Erst wenn von den großen Anteilseignern erkannt wird, dass CZX ernst macht, werden sie sich überlegen ob eine Übernahme infrage kommt.
Alles andere ist nur geplänkel und Werbung/Pusherei
Ein Unternehmen muss aufgehübscht sein und dem potentiellen Käufer auf einem Silbertablett präsentiert werden. Das sehe ich im Moment bei CZX noch nicht.
Was bringt es denn, jedes Jahr Bohrprogramme durchzuführen wenn die Ergebnisse nicht zusammengefasst und vor allem aktualisiert werden?

Jetzt könnte wieder Hoffnung aufkeimen, daß es bald einen Interessenten für unsere Canada Zinc geben wird.
da sieht man mal wieder was es ausmacht wenn so ein Schwergewicht wie Glencore sich
ganz uneigennützig betätigt.
Erst überführt man nicht statistisch erfasstes Material aus dem eigenen Lager ins LME Lager
um es quasi zu legitimieren und um sich dann zu wundern das die rd. 130000 to. den Kurs
absacken lässt, einige Zeit später moniert man dann das die Preise ja so schlecht sind das
man die Produktion zurückfahren muss und Mitarbeiter entlassen muss, da alles sich nicht
mehr rechnet, schon eigentümlich.
Wer glaubt eigentlich diesen Schmarn eines höchstverschuldeten Unternehmens noch
das nur von den eigenen großen Mängeln ablenken will?
Schade ist nur das die anderen Marktteilnehmer mit darunter leiden müssen.
Ich würde gerne mal Mäuschen spielen in der verantwortlichen Abteilung bei Glencore
um zu sehen wie die auf die fallenden und steigenden Kurse (je nach Termin) gezockt
haben, um Ihr Defizit zu verringern
Oder sollte man besser sagen den Markt manipuliert haben, den schließlich haben sie zu
diesem tun ja Insider wissen ausgenutzt. Schmutzige Praktiken.
Zu CZX ist zu sagen : recht hast Du auf hübschen muss man nicht nur sein Haus wenn
man es veräußern, will sondern auch seine Firma, sein Auto oder was auch immer.
Wenn man untätig ist, sich am Markt mit Meldungen über Aktivitäten weder hören noch
sehen lässt ist das schon etwas ungewöhnlich.
Andere sind da wesentlich einfallsreicher: siehe Nevada Cooper oder Equitas Resourses (Nickel)
Man muss sich nicht anbiedern aber in gegebener Form seine Firma repräsentieren muss sein.
Na dann wollen wir doch mal sehen ob die bisherigen schönen Kurserhöhungen nicht nur bei Zink sondern auch bei CZ in Canada den Tag überstehen und auch der Schlusskurs sich so darstellt .
Schön währe es ja, und mein Optimismus sagt mir: Alles wird Gut,
und die Zeit heilt (viele) alle Wunden.

PS: China, in absoluten Zahlen braucht China mehr als je zuvor, nur der prozentuale Anteil ist
geringer geworden da die Basiszahlen sich erhöht haben! also keine bange China braucht
nach wie vor riesige Mengen von ( fast ) allem.

CANADA ZINC METALS CONTINUES TO INTERSECT HIGH GRADE MINERALISATION WITH 17.20% ZN+PB OVER 11.09 METRES
Canada Zinc Metals Corp. has released new assays results for drill holes A-15-124 and A-15-125, which focused on expanding the current indicated resource as well as the known extents of the high-grade zinc-lead-silver system in the central core of the Cardiac Creek deposit on the Akie property. The 2015 Akie drill program was concluded in late September with a total of 5,350 metres drilled in eight drill holes. Results have now been received from four drill holes totaling 2,278 metres; with results pending from four additional holes. Results from drill hole A-15-121 and drill hole A-15-122 were previously released on September 2, 2015 and are included in the table below highlighting the latest results. Drill hole A-15-123 was abandoned downhole at a depth of 270.66 metres due to excessive deviation and re-started as drill hole A-15-124. A-15-124 Drill hole A-15-124 targeted the high grade core of the Cardiac Creek deposit with the intended pierce point located approximately 75 metres down-dip of the high grade hole A-05-32. Previously reported results from A-05-32 include: 26.7 metres (core length) of 14.69% Zn+Pb. The hole intersected a 30 metre interval of proximal facies pyrite mineralization overlying the Cardiac Creek Zone. The Cardiac Creek Zone consisted of three main sections extending over a downhole length of 55.28 metres separated by intervals of weakly mineralized shale. The first section occurred immediately below proximal facies mineralization and consisted of approximately 40% visible sulphide bedding with sphalerite bands over a downhole interval of 19.87 metres. The second section is characterized by approximately 60% visible sulphide bedding with mottled sphalerite bands with galena over a downhole interval of 8.73 metres. The last section is a well-developed zone of Cardiac Creek style mineralisation with approximately 65-70% visible sulphide bedding throughout, over a downhole interval of 15.81 metres. The hole was finished in calcareous siltstone at a total depth of 708.66 metres. A-15-124 contains an extensive interval of mineralisation that is present from 577.63 to 662.30 metres that grades 5.47% combined Zn+Pb and 9.20 g/t Ag over a true width of 58.53 metres. The Cardiac Creek Zone, included within that interval from 601.13 to 656.41 metres, returned 7.72% combined Zn+Pb and 12.30 g/t Ag over a true width of 38.43 metres. Higher grade intervals include 11.58 % Zn+Pb and 18.22 g/t Ag over a true width of 21.41 metres, and 17.20% Zn+Pb and 26.43 g/t Ag over a true width of 11.09 metres. The results from A-15-124 are tabulated below. A-15-125 Drill hole A-15-125 targeted the up-dip extents of the high grade core of the Cardiac Creek deposit with the intended pierce point located between holes A-07-49 and A-07-50 and along strike of A-07-53 with an approximate separation of 75 metres. Previously reported results from these surrounding holes included: 20.19 metres (core length) of 13.65% Zn+Pb in A-07-49, 20.98 metres (core length) of 20.08% Zn+Pb in A-07-50, and 16.23 metres (core length) of 15.15% Zn+Pb in A-07-53. The hole intersected a thin 6.67 metre interval of proximal facies pyrite mineralisation before shifting into the Cardiac Creek Zone at 416.05 metres. The zone, extending to a depth of 439.91 metres, is characterized by laminar pyrite with steadily increasing amounts of mottled sphalerite banding with galena occurring downhole. Based on visual estimates, higher grade Cardiac Creek mineralization occurred from 429.98 to 439.91 metres. In this interval, the mineralisation is dominantly mottled sphalerite-quartz-carbonate-galena, with minor laminated pyrite. Disseminated galena is fine grained and in close association with the mottling textures. Visible mineralisation makes up approximately 45% of the interval. The hole was terminated at a depth of 461.64 metres in Road River Group siltstone. The Cardiac Creek Zone was intersected from 414.85 to 441.62 metres and returned 8.53% combined Zn+Pb and 12.28 g/t Ag over a true width of 23.37 metres. Inclusive higher grade intervals include 11.45% Zn+Pb and 15.75 g/t Ag over a true width of 15.76 metres, and 15.45% Zn+Pb and 21.76 g/t Ag over a true width of 8.68 metres. QA/QC Canada Zinc Metals has implemented a rigorous quality assurance/quality control program at the Akie property using best industry practices. All drill core is logged for geology, structure, veining, alteration, mineralisation, and RQD. Sections of sulphide mineralisation are marked for sampling by a geologist and a series of standards, duplicates and blanks are inserted into the sample stream for QA/QC purposes. Prior to the cutting of samples, all core boxes are photographed for due diligence and record keeping purposes. The samples are split by a diamond saw, tagged and bagged and forwarded to Acme Labs (a Bureau Veritas Group Company) of Vancouver, BC, for analysis. Documentation recording the chain of custody is kept for each shipment. Assays for zinc, lead and silver are obtained using Acme Labs AQ270 analytical package with sample digestion using aqua regia solution followed by ICP-ES and ICP-MS analyses. Barium content is determined by Acme Labs LF300 analytical package using LiBO2/LiB4O7 fusion and ACS grade nitric acid followed by ICP-ES analysis. Over limit values of lead and zinc are rerun using Bureau Veritas AQ371 analytical package using a hot aqua regia solution followed by ICP-ES analyses. Check assays on drill pulps are routinely conducted by ALS Minerals of North Vancouver, BC with their OG46 analytical package using aqua regia digestion and ICP-ES analysis. All remaining drill core is securely stored at the Akie exploration camp. The Akie Zn-Pb-Ag Project The Akie property is situated within the Kechika Trough, the southernmost area of the regionally extensive Paleozoic Selwyn Basin, one of the most prolific sedimentary basins in the world for the occurrence of SEDEX zinc-lead-silver and stratiform barite deposits. Drilling on the Akie property by Canada Zinc Metals since 2005 has identified a significant body of baritic-zinc-lead-silver SEDEX mineralisation known as the Cardiac Creek deposit. The deposit is hosted by siliceous, carbonaceous, fine grained clastic rocks of the Middle to Late Devonian Gunsteel Formation.
