Omega, ich war sehr überrascht, einen Scxhwarzen von dir bekommen zu haben. Nach dem Lesen deines Postings hab ich aber daynn alles verstanden und gut gelacht. Alles andere hätte mich denn auch sehr gewundert. (Ich hatte den Witz nicht sofort reingeschrieben, weil ich tatsächlich nicht wusste, ob überhaupt jemand ihn hören wollte. Ich wurde eines Besseren belehrt). Super, dass ihr den Witz Strafen lügt und Humor beweist.

(Allerdings kenne ich eure "deutschen Mitbürger Cana Yana, Mirko Nonchev, Miriam Boes, ... ", wie du schreibst, leider nicht.
Aber Vico von Bülow, alias Loriot. Den mag ich schon sehr weil er nicht gleich mit Keule drauf losschwingt, sondern seine Mitbürger mit nur leicht überspitzt dargestellten Szenen konfrontiert und so Mentalitätszüge entlarvt.
Wie du siehst, braucht ihr eigentlich niemanden zu importieren. In D. gibt es debenso wie anderswo sehr geistreiche und witzige Leute.


und das hilft einem dann doch schon, den Alltag lebenswerter zu machen.

PS: (übrigens gibt's auch Witze über uns. Die beziehen sich dann eher auf die Größe des Landes. Die Belgier fallen da immer über uns her. Doch die sind momentan zu sehr mit sich selbst beschäftigt (seit Juni keine Regierung mehr) und erzählen lieber Witze über flamen und Wallonen.

Doch kein noch so schönes Marketing Bildle wird Aplle helfen können,wenn die Konjunktur in den USA eintrübt. Wie in dem sehr guten Artikel von Kicky, den ich oben eingestellt habe nochmals beschrieben wird, werden Konsumaktien und Techaktien eine der als nächsten kommenden leidtragenden der Krise sein.

Auch ich halte die Krise nicht für ausgestanden. Ich denke, daß es bald rappeln wird im Karton, wie es jemand im "Bärenthread" ausgedrückt hat.

Aber wieso ausgerechnet jetzt vor Weihnachten ? Eine Menge Gründe stehen dem entgegen (kaum ein Fondsverwalter wird gegen Ende des Jahres seine Bilanz vermiesen wollen; eine Menge "bad News" ist eingepreist)

Ich denke, die Kreditkrise wird noch einige faulige Eier für uns bereit halten, worunter natürlich insbesondere Konsumaktien zu leiden haben.

Um jetzt short zu gehen, ist es (noch) zu früh. Die richtige Zeit kommt aber noch  

wäre mir persönlich zu teuer!  

3G iPhone: Sooner rather than later?

“You’ll have it next year.”

That was AT&T (T) chairman Randall Stephenson’s answer to a question yesterday about when Apple (AAPL) will introduce an iPhone that runs on a faster, third generation wireless network rather than AT&T’s 2.5G EDGE network, according to an overnight report.

The remark was made at a meeting of the Churchill Club in Santa Clara, Calif., and seemed to offer slightly more hope of a speedy delivery than Steve Jobs’ latest public comment on the matter.

“Hopefully we’ll see that late next year,” was what Jobs said when asked last September why he hadn’t built a 3G iPhone.

A few weeks later, Broadcom began delivering samples of a low-power integrated device it calls “a 3G Phone on a Chip” that would seem to meet Apple’s requirements. It will be available next year in bulk for $23 apiece. (see here)

AT&T chairman couldn’t comment on how much an iPhone built around such a chip might cost. Steve Jobs “will dictate what the price of the phone is,” Stephenson said — a choice of verbs that reveals more about the relationship of the two CEOs than he probably intended.

Engadget speculates that such a phone might fit into the $599 price slot formerly occupied by the 8 gigabyte iPhone while carrying 16 gigabytes of flash memory like the iPod touch.

Rumors that a 3G iPhone might come as early as May 2008 were floating around last week. Will Stephenson’s remarks put a damper on Christmas iPhone sales? ParisLemon thinks so. Piper Jaffrey’s Gene Munster not so much.
 

Goofy's Retail Report™, v2.3



Since retail reports seem to be popular on the Fool boards, I thought I would throw my first one in, titled v2.3 just to add some gravitas.

I'm thinking of getting Mrs. Goofy a Nano for Christmas, and having purchased nothing from Apple for personal use over the years except about 20 of their fine home computers
, I thought I would venture to the Apple Store in my local mall and get some help on things like "how much" and "which cables" and "huh, earbuds?" and stuff like that.

But excuse me while I digress, which I occasionally do in all my Retail ReportsTM including this one, which as I mentioned, is my first. When I went looking for a flat screen TV a year or so ago, I recall walking past a Dell kiosk which was hawking them and I took a looksee. I mention this only because the Dell kiosk has moved - from far down the mall to about 50 yards from the entrance to the Apple Store. It made for an interesting contrast, not to mention the question of "Why did they move?" Heh.

The Dell kiosk is one of those cheesy little cart thingies, piled high with some flat screen monitors flashing their specials ("SuperDuper Headphones, only $3/mo.") [Do people buy headphones on the installment plan?] Anyway, I realize that calling their kiosk "cheesy" might be seen as overt editorializing, so please substitute a less pejorative word. Possibly "forlorn" or "junky" are better choices to preserve my illusion of objectivity.

Nevertheless, in the 10 minutes that I sat and ate my ice cream at the shop directly opposite, I noted that exactly one person stopped at the kiosk, and that was to ask directions to some other store. The lone employee, a fattish, balding and middle-aged fellow with 5 o'clock shadow (at 2:30 in the afternoon) made no pretense of keeping himself busy, he merely sat slumped on his stool, waiting for his day to end (possibly to rush home to see the Corny Collins Show, I'll never know.)

Just shouting distance away was the Apple Store, a giant iPhone in the window, a silver Apple logo above the portal. Though it was a Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, I counted about 40 patrons - although I hasten to point out not all of them were buying something. Yes, the line was three-deep at both registers at the back of the store, but I definitely saw a Mom with two kids, probably 7 and 4, and I'm sure the four year old wasn't dropping his dime this early in the season.

I also counted at least 8 red-shirted employees not including at the Genius Bar, but it was hard to keep track since they kept answering people's questions and then bouncing over to help someone else. Like me. I waited possibly two minutes, which was just enough time to realize that I wasn't going to get my answers by reading the boxes when a young redshirt magically appeared. My questions, like most I suppose, were mundane: "How do I get the music into my wife's car radio?" (A '98 Acura, no audio jack), and "How do I get it to play through my home stereo?" and basic stuff like that.

The greeter at the door was pretty clueless, but she was at least pretty, if a bit too chirpy for my taste. But she led me to to the display, and then the 20-something redshirt appeared who knew every item on the accessories wall and explained them all to me with endless patience, each and every one that I pointed to.

All the while I kept noticing people fondling the products, laughing with each other, putting on headphones and so on and generally having a good time. I thought of poor Mr. 5:00 Shadow over at his kiosk, not having much holiday fun at all, and it made me sad.

Then I remember Michael Dell's quote when Steve Jobs returned and I decided I didn't really care, and that the marketing of the two brands was right there, on conspicuous display for the world to see. And I smiled.

One, a classy glassy feel good emporium, the other a living, breathing testament to cheese.

As with any retail report, The Goofy Retail ReportTM should note that not all the customers at the Dell kiosk were buying anything either. Well, there weren't any customers, but if there were, not all of them were buying something, which augurs badly for Dell in the next quarter.

I'll also explain that in the Apple Store I didn't buy anything, but I think I might have upgraded myself from a Nano to an iPod Touch, (I'm not sure yet) but that certainly augurs well for Apple's next quarter. Hey, $100 here, $100 there, before you know it you have another $100. (If any other retail analysts are still reading, I'll slip the inside info that my purchase will be late in December, so as to avoid having the Lady Goof see the charge on the MasterCard bill before she gets the present. As with the case of a woman her age, I will call this delay "Nanopause," a phrase I hope does not show up in the Annual Report.)

Well that's about it from the trenches. One sighting, 2:30 on a Tuesday. Try not to make too much of it.

Apple Inc finished the previous session higher extending the prior days gains. Trend indicators have turned from a neutral price pattern to a bullish bias. However the overall strength of the trend, as indicated by the ADX, is weak and should be watched as a result.

MACD also has issued a bullish signal, suggesting a reversal in the current trend.

TREND INDICATORS:

Simple Moving Average (10-Day): The closing price finished above this moving average. Also, the slope of the moving average is in an upward slope from the previous session indicating further strength. As a result the 10-Day simple moving average has a strong bullish bias.

Simple Moving Average (25-Day): The closing price crossed above this moving average. However, despite prices trading above the moving average line, the moving average is in a downward slope from the previous session. If prices trade below the moving average then the trend will be clearly established as up. However, this strength in the price will need to be watched. As a result the 25-Day simple moving average has a weak bearish bias.

Simple Moving Average (50-Day): The closing price finished above this moving average. Also, the slope of the moving average is in an upward slope from the previous session indicating further strength. As a result the 50-Day simple moving average has a strong bullish bias.

ADX: The Average Directional Change (ADX) indicates the strength of a markets underlying trend. A rising ADX is interpreted as building trend strength, while a falling ADX indicates weakness in the underlying trend and the potential of a market reversal. On this market, the 14-Day ADX is falling, while the long term trend, based on a 50-Day moving average, is up. However, the weak ADX indicates that the current trend is deteriorating and may possibly reverse. Look for choppiness ahead.

MOMENTUM INDICATORS:
MACD: MACD has issued a bullish signal, as the signal line has crossed above the True MACD. With the current long term trend, based on a 50 day simple moving average, to the upside, this suggests that prices will continue to rise for a time.

RSI: The 14-Day RSI is in neutral territory. (RSI is at 58.01). This indicator issues bullish signals when the RSI line dips below the oversold zone (currently set at 20.00); a bearish signal is generated when the RSI rises into the overbought zone (currently set at 80.00). Nevertheless with the RSI at 58.01 the market is somewhat overbought. However, this by itself isn't a strong enough indication to signal a trade. Look for additional evidence of weakness from this indicator before getting too bearish here.

VOLATILITY INDICATORS:

Bollinger Bands (20-Day Average +/-1 Standard Deviation): As prices are closer to the bottom band than the top band, the Bollinger Bands are indicating overbought prices. Volatility also appears to be decreasing, as evidenced by a smaller distance between the upper and lower bands over the past few sessions. Despite this overbought condition the market may become more overbought before turning lower. As a result, the market will look for additional weakening in prices before turning bearish on this indicator.

Es geht um die Sache und die ist in Zukunft positiv. Mindestens bis Mitte Januar, wenn die Quartalszahlen vorliegen und neue Produkte vorgestellt werden.

Apple iPhone Talks With China Mobile Fail - Report

Negotiations between China Mobile Ltd. (CHL), China's largest mobile phone operator by subscribers, and Apple Inc. (AAPL) on offering the U.S. company's iPhone in China have failed, the Southern Daily newspaper reported, citing unnamed sources. The two parties couldn't reach an agreement because of differences over revenue sharing, the paper reported Thursday. Apple now plans to open stores in Beijing next summer to sell iPhones directly, and is in talks with Chinese mobile phone distributors, it said.

alle 6 Mte. das NEUESTE sofort haben zu müssen, um jeden Preis.  Dem Aktionär mag's Recht sein;        

- Swisscom erhielt den Zuschlag in der Schweiz für das iPhones.

AT&T CEO Randall Stephensen kündigt im nächsten Jahr ein iPhone an, dass ein deutlich schnelleres surfen im Internet ermöglichen wird. Wann genau und zu welchem Preis das neue iPhone auf den Markt kommen wird, wollte der AT&T-Manager nicht sagen. Auch Apple enthielt sich zunächst jeglichen Kommentars.

Das aktuelle iPhone arbeitet mit dem vergleichsweise langsamen EDGE-Netz von AT&T. Analysten hatten bereits spekuliert, dass Apple im nächsten Jahr ein überarbeitetes iPhone auf den Markt bringen wird, dass auch mit 3G-Netzen kompatibel ist.

Warum kündigt man ausgerechnet jetzt - im Weihnachtsgeschäft - ein besseres iPhone im nächsten Jahr an ?

Das ist doch marketintechnisches Harakiri !!

Außerdem habe ich was von einer Melung gelesen, daß die Zusammenarbeit mit China Mobile geplatzt ist .... das dürfte, wenn dem so ist, mit Sicherheit einen Rückschlag bedeuten.
