Shares in AIM-listed oil and gas company Afren Plc rise 10 percent, after the company says it expects to move up to the London Stock Exchange's main market in early December and that it has bought a 40 percent interest and technical operatorship in OPL 310, a block in offshore Nigeria.

The block is next to the Aje field which has recently been declared commercial, Morgan Stanley says in a note. Wednesday's share price rise adds to gains on Tuesday when Afren said it had positive results from the Ebok-5 well in Nigeria.

'Following on from the positive update on the Ebok (Nigeria) appraisal and development yesterday, confirmation of the proposed admission to the LSE main board highlights the momentum behind the growth story at Afren,' Morgan Stanley says.

At current valuations the listing would put Afren into the FTSE 250. Nomura raises its share price target on Afren to 110 pence from 97 pence and rates the stock, which is trading at 95.5 pence at 0932 GMT, a 'buy'.

Afren gains on talk of move into FTSE 250

Afren was in focus amid speculation that the Africa-focused oil explorer will join the FTSE 250 index at the next quarterly reshuffle in December.

It is thought dealers were snapping up the shares ahead of interest from index-tracking funds, which are likely to pick up the stock when it officially moves into the FTSE 250 index.

Derzeit nähme man im FTSE 250 einen guten Mittelplatz ein.

Hey, da ist doch absehbar, in 2 bis 3  Jahren im FTSE 100 zu stehen. So what, von 1 EUR auf 3 EUR - wenn wir innerhalb dieses Jahres einen rebound von 0,17 EUR auf 1,10 EUR hingelegt haben !  ;)

Mein Tip: 1,85 GBP macht beim derzeitigen Kurs, so um die 2 EUR bis 2,10 EUR

Im letztjährigen Tippspiel im Afren Thread bei ADVFN, war ich knapp 15% zu konservativ, bestimmt werden auch in 2010 meine Erwartungen weit mehr als erfüllt !

schaun wir mal was sie mit der letzten Kapitalerhöhung von ca. 100M$ so vorhaben.....

vielleicht von Shell paar Felder abkaufen, die sich ja aus Nigeria schnell zurückziehen wollen....  

Ich bin der Hoffnung, das Afren auf 2-3 GBP steigen wird.

seit dem Höxhsstand 20% im Minus...bei deinem Chart ist gut zu sehen, das wir im Endeffekt seit November kein Plus sehen, obwohl der Ölpreis eigentlich ganz gut da steht....

und ja,ist nicht alles so prickelnd...aber he...haben wir nicht ne Perle, da braucht man doch eigentlich nicht aus dem Fenster schaune, deswegen.....
