Healthsonix Inc. DL-,001
HealthSonix, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: HSXI) (FRANKFURT: H7S) was praised in a recent business article.
"Our patients are our best spokespeople," commented Dieter Doederlein, Vice President of Business Development. "It's a wonderful feeling when you can help people that have limited mobility and function and are living with pain. That's what makes my job so rewarding," added Doederlein.
AquaSonix Therapy programs have bee recognized as the leading, non-pharmacologic, pain therapy treatments by referring physicians. There is no fear of complications with drug interactions when we refer patients to AquaSonix Therapy, added Dr. David Venturi, the Company's medical director.
Following are some of the excerpts from the article:
"The buoyancy of the water gives the sensation of losing 75 percent of your weight, so you feel lighter and can move easier," he explains. "If you have a hip or knee problem, you typically can't exercise on dry land. In the water, you can do all of these exercises."
But then the sound waves -- sent at such low levels you won't notice them -- take effect, stimulating mechanoreceptors, increasing blood flow, relaxing muscles, and releasing endorphins.
Pat Callery, 77, arrived at the Huron Park Pool with an injured hip which had him "waking up several times a night."
"In the morning I would get up and couldn't get it to work properly until 10 or 11," he says. "This is the first thing that really started to work -- I think the warm water helps. I'm up to 14 sessions. There are still twinges. I still feel it if I roll over at night."
Doug Wright was similarly suffering a "lot of pain" after a hip replacement. "I'd fight every day to come down here, and I'm glad I did," he says. "When I'm through with it, I feel a lot better. Once you get in the water, it's beautiful and warm. You feel great! The exercises are good."
Others cite simple quality of life improvements like being able to drive, or open a jar again after years of crippling arthritis."

IRVINE, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 18, 2007 -- HealthSonix (Other OTC:HSXI.PK - News) (Frankfurt:H7S.F - News) announced today that it will commence with the sales of the new AquaSonix Therapy medical device to Hospitals, Rehabilitation Centers, and other professional medical facilities.
"Until now, the AquaSonix Therapy was only used in company owned and operated treatment centers, but the demand for the AquaSonix Therapy treatments dictated that we make product available to other professional healthcare facilities," said Dieter Doederlein, Vice President of Corporate Development for HealthSonix. "AquaSonix is a new treatment that combines the company's proprietary sound pulse technology with individualized low impact exercises in warm water therapy pools."
"To date, 4 out of five patients treated report a reduction in pain averaging 51%, significant improvement in physical function, and a reduction in stiffness," said Dr. David Venturi, Company's Medical Director. "The pain reduction results achieved by the AquaSonix Therapy are indeed consistent with the known positive effects of sound pulses when applied directly to the human body. Sound pulses work on the central nervous system by stimulating the mechanoreceptors located in the skin. The end effect is a reduction in pain and patients can progressively increase their exercise regimen in the pool. The resultant relaxing effects also allow patients to sleep better."
The price of each AquaSonix Therapy device is $19,995 USD, which includes a complete training program for designated therapists, and access to the company's proprietary computerized patient management software system. In addition to the initial sales revenue the Company will see ongoing service revenues from the installed systems.

Man konnte lange sehr billig einsammeln *g*.

According to an article posted yesterday on MedicalNewsToday.com, The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) says now that a study suggests that no evidence exists that the popular nutritional supplement chondroitin may prevent or reduce pain for arthritis, patients may wish to consider the benefits of physical therapist intervention for pain relief from certain arthritic conditions. The study, done by Swiss researchers at the University of Bern in Switzerland, was published in yesterday's Annals of Internal Medicine. The article stated that pain associated with certain degenerative diseases such as osteoarthritis, can be reduced with physical therapist intervention. "The physical therapist, in collaboration with the patient and the patient's physician, can help the patient manage his or her health over the long term," explained APTA President R Scott Ward, PT, PhD. For osteoarthritis, a degenerative disease of the cartilage and bone, physical therapist intervention may include exercises for strength, flexibility, range of motion, and the use of devices designed to rest or support the joint, such as orthotics or splints. Physical therapists work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility by developing fitness- and wellness-oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Many insurance policies also cover post-rehabilitation gym programs. About The American Physical Therapy Association The American Physical Therapy Association is a national professional organization representing more than 70,000 physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, and students. Its goal is to foster advancements in physical therapy practice, research, and education. More information may be found at: http://www.apta.org
