Mexico plans $14bn wind bonanza.

The government of Mexico has unveiled a strategy to lure $14bn of fresh private investment into the country’s wind energy sector in the next three years.

Energy Secretary Joaquín Coldwell (pictured) said ongoing reform of Mexico’s energy market should see the $5bn invested to date in wind tripled by 2018.

The extra capital could see Mexico’s wind capacity spike from today’s 2551MW to as much as 9GW in 2018, according to reports. Six wind farms totalling 732MW will come online this year alone.

Coldwell said wind energy has a “fundamental role to play in the energy transition”, alongside key players such as Acciona, Gamesa, Iberdrola and developer Peñoles.

The minister also praised ongoing work by the Comisión Federal de Electricidad to deliver eight wind farms totalling 2.3GW of capacity in the coming years.

Coldwell said the government is taking actions to reduce bureaucracy and expand transmission capacity to connect the extra wind capacity. “Electrical interconnections, until very recently, required 47 (regulatory) steps. This has been reduced to just nine.”

The federal administration is also supporting investment in initiatives to increase the reliability of turbines and wind farms, and decrease operation and maintenance costs, Coldwell added.

Gamesa breaks into Belgium

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has landed its first order in Belgium.

The company will supply seven of its G114 2.5MW machines (pictured) at the 17.5MW Berloz wind farm in the east of the country.

The facility is being jointly developed by EDF Luminus, a subsidiary of French utility EDF, and Eneco Wind Belgium, a subsidiary of Dutch utility Eneco, between the Walloon towns of Berloz and Geer in the province of Liege.

In addition to supplying, installing and commissioning the turbines Gamesa will service the wind farm for 15 years. Deliveries are scheduled in August and the project is expected to start generating by year-end.

The order is Gamesa’s second for its new G114 2.5MW model, which is designed for class 2 wind speed sites, following a contract to supply 15MW to John Laing.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer has received another order from EDF Energies Nouvelles for the supply, installation and commissioning of 14 G58 850kW turbines at the Joncels wind farm in the southern French region of Languedoc-Roussillon.

The units will be delivered during the third quarter and the wind farm will start generating in December.

positive Guidance Report am 26.Februar
http://renews.biz/83609/gamesa-raises-cash-flow-bar/

Gamesa has revised its estimate for net free cash flow generation for 2014 upwards to more than €300m on the back of preliminary results.

The Spanish wind turbine manufacturer said the improvement is attributable in the main to a “strong underlying business performance”.

This takes in “solid results in line with guidance for the year, execution of the available-asset disposal plan and the effectiveness of the working capital streamlining programme in 2014”, Gamesa added.

The results are still subject to the auditor's review and the company is due to release its 2014 annual results on 26 February.

The WindCore and WindOne system allows project controllers to remotely analyse data in real time from projects.

Data gathered by the control system includes wind speed at each turbine, temperature of the machines and intensity. This data helps project owners predict operations and maintenance work.

Gamesa and Iberdrola are making the system available to all of their customers. It can be used on any make of turbine via a single interface removing the need for different software programmes.

Gamesa said it operates over 400 projects globally, from its control centre in Spain. The remote management system coincides with DNV GL's certification of Gamesa's upgrade programme, which is intended to extend the life of its G47-660kW turbines to 30 years.

The certification body has confirmed that Gamesa's structural upgrades and monitoring features can extend the life of the turbines from the standard 20 years to 30 years.Gamesa said it will now work on applying the life-extension programme to its 850kW and 2MW turbines and even to machines from other manufacturers maintained by Gamesa.......

Gamesa signs new contracts for Indian market

09 February 2015
Latest deals call for the supply of 260 MW.

Gamesa has signed two new agreements for the supply of an aggregate 260 MW.

The first order, from Indian developer and independent power producer (IPP) Greenko, encompasses the supply, installation and commissioning of 80 of the company’s G97-2.0 MW turbines (160 MW). More specifically, Gamesa will install 30 turbines at Jaisalmer Region, in the state of Rajasthan, and another 50 at Basavanabagewadi, in Karnataka. The turbines are slated for delivery during the first quarter of this year and the wind farms are expected to be commissioned by June 2015. Gamesa will also operate and maintain all 80 turbines in the long term.

This contract is included in a new framework agreement to commission 300 MW wind power projects in India, signed by Gamesa and Greenko. The second phase of 140 MW is expected to be secured during the second quarter of the year, in different wind farms located in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

The second order, meanwhile, placed by Indian developer CLP India, covers the turnkey construction of a 100-MW wind farm at Chandgargh, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The company, which will handle all of the infrastructure needed to install and operate the complex, will install 50 G97-2.0 MW turbines and also service them in the long term. The turbines are due for delivery during the first half of this year and the wind farm will be commissioned in December 2015.

Both the 80 turbines which Gamesa will install for Greenko and the 50 it will install for CLP will be its G97-2.0 MW Class S make, with a tower height of 104 metres, a new model specifically designed for low wind speed sites in the Indian market.

These two new contracts put Gamesa’s 2014 Indian order intake at 850 MW. From January to September, India accounted for 27% of MW sold by the company.

Da braucht man Arbeitgeber in diesen Regionen.

http://www.4coffshore.com/windfarms/...w-test-turbine-spain-es50.html

Die Zukunft geht ja dann direkter in Richtung 10 MW in den nächsten Jahren.

Und da kann ein Konzern wie Areva mit dieser guten LOBBY-Arbeit doch auch nicht schaden. ;-).

http://www.iwr.de/news.php?id=26611

Hyderabad, Feb 13:

Wind energy companies Gamesa, RSR Power, Naveen Green Energy and Ramagiri Rayala Wind power are among companies allotted land for setting up of wind farms in the Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, considered to be an ideal location for wind power farms.

In separate Government orders issued today, these companies have been allotted land of varying sizes depending upon the size of the project on lease by NREDCAP, the nodal agency taking care of renewable energy development in the State.

As per the interest shown by the developers, while Gamesa has hinted at 15.5 MW of power, RSR Power (15.5 MW, Naveen Green Energy (19.5 MW) and Ramagiri Rayala Wind (10 MW). There are many others who have lined up to take up projects including some of the firms such as Greenko and Mytrah.

Given the wind power potential, the State has plans to attract companies, enabling them to expand the installed capacity of wind farms from the current 900 MW to 4,000 MW within five years.

EGYPT: Gamesa has been awarded a contract to engineer, procure and construct a 120MW wind power project on Egypt's Gulf of El-Zayt by the state-owned New and Renewable Energy Association NREA.

According to the NREA, Gamesa signed a contract early December. The project, which is supported with Spanish funding, is located around 80km north of Hurghada on the Red Sea Coast. It is scheduled for commissioning in 2016.

Gamesa is also set to sign a contract with NREA this month for 220MW in the same region. Vestas and Acciona were also in the running for the two projects.

Gamesa is by far and away Egypt's market leader, having supplied 405MW of the 550MW installed capacity and with another 200MW under construction on the Gulf of El-Zayt. Vestas and Nordex have installed 77MW and 63MW respectively.

For the first time in Morocco, bidders must include some element of local manufacture in their plans.

The consortium will work in partnership with US blade manufacturer TPI Consortium, which supplies Gamesa in Mexico and the US. The factory, owned by TPI, would be capable of supplying over 1000 blades a year for the local market and export to Europe and the Middle East.

The other four entities bidding are Acciona; EDF Energies with Alstom, QWEC of Qatar and FIPAR of Morocco; Nareva Holding of Morocco with Enel Green Power and Siemens; and GDF Suez with Vestas.

Gamesa Corporacion Tecnologica : sign worldwide union deal

02/19/2015 | 02:40pm US/Eastern

The agreement formally recognises Gamesas commitment to its social, labour and environmental commitments made as part of its CSR strategy.

This new deal with Industriall extends to all of Gamesas employees in all countries it is present in. Gamesa said it is the first agreement of this type. It will run for four years initially, with the option to extend the deal every two years.

Gamesa will oversee the agreement along with other union representatives in a new coordination and oversight body. It will report every two years on how the agreement is being met.

Gamesa chief corporate officer Jose Antonio Cortajarena said, This agreement evidences the continual and two-way dialogue that exists between Gamesa and its unions.

This deal contrasts with rival manufacturer Enercons disputes with trade unions in Germany.

--------------------------------------------------

02/19/2015 | 01:19pm US/Eastern

This agreement - the first of its class in the renewable energy sector - was signed by José Antonio Cortajarena and Javier Treviño, Chief Corporate Officer and Director of Human Resources at Gamesa, respectively, and by the General Secretary of IndustriALL Global Union, Jyrki Raina, and the General Secretaries of Industry of unions CCOO, MCA-UGT and FITAG-UGT, Agustín Martín, Carlos Romero and Antonio Deusa, respectively. The signing ceremony was also attended by Joaquín Nieto, director of the Spanish International Labour Organization (ILO) office.

One of the agreement's novel aspects is the fact that Gamesa will oversee and supervise the agreement together with its workers' representatives (UGT and CCOO). To this end it will set up a coordination and oversight body that will meet regularly and issue a report every two years on the level of application of the agreement with a view to analysing potential updates.

"This agreement evidences the continual and two-way dialogue that exists between Gamesa and its unions. It also reinforces the conduct and ethical guidelines embodied by our general policies and our Code of Conduct and echoes the Group's corporate culture and values", underscored Cortajarena.

The contents of the agreement will apply in all the countries in which Gamesa is present and, by extension, to all of its employees.
