First, the investment concept of Local Corp is full intact and has become more sustainable despite the precipitous declines. Only manipulated naked shortselling lemmings, washtrading and criminal activities of the market-makers pushing the stocks to incredible lows. Second, the valuations became so cheap that Local Corp became buyout targets.

But I am sure, that the cash flow from operations was postive, too, in the first quarter of 2013,, because teh Monthly Unique Visitors of Local Corp increased with 39.8% a lot faster than xpected in first both month of 2013 against the same period of 2012.

That is a average during a period with a difficult year 2011 of 29.6%.

Turnaround of Local Corp [Adjusted Net income (loss) ]had take place:

FY-09: 3,041,000$

FY-10: 13,775,000$

FY-11: (1,734,000)$

FY-12: (600,000)$

FY-13: 5,000,000$

Sicher waren da zu einem entscheiden Teil auch die Umstellungen bei Google beteiligt, sehr viel wichtiger war allerdings meines Erachtens ein anderer Grund, den das Management etwas in der Hintergrund zu verdrängen versucht und der sich auf Seite 10 des letztjährigen 10 K-Berichts wie folgt niederschlägt: Employees - As of December 31, 2011, we had 227 employees, all of whom were full-time employees. 29 were engaged in research and development, 150 in sales and marketing, 6 in cost of revenues and 42 in general and administration. None of our employees are represented by a labor union. We have not experienced any work stoppages, and we consider our relations with our employees to be good.

Man hatte innerhalb kurzer Zeit die Beschäftigtenzahl von etwas mehr als 100 binnen Jahresfrist auf 227 hochgefahren – und davon allein 150 in sales und marketing, weil man einen direkten Verkauf aufbauen wollte. Zum Entscheidungszeitpunkt und den damaligen Prognosen war das evenutell sogar eine richtige Entscheidung, wenn auch aus meiner Sicht eine sehr risikovolle. Zum damaligen Zeitpunkt galten nämlich Daily Deals als das Wachstumvehikel schlechthin. Und so stammten 60 der zusätzlichen Beschäftigen aus der Übernahme von Spreebird und diese Verkaufsorganisation sollte auch weitere Produkte von Local Corp vermarkten.

in Sachen Daily Deals die Bremse zog, als sich dieser Bereich nicht so entwickelte, wie man das angedacht hatte, und zwar auch nicht annähernd so. Statt der 60 Leute bei der Übernahem betreuen heute weniger als 5 Personen diesen Bereich und machen trotzdem nicht weniger Umsätze, haben den Break-Even erreicht und erwirtschaften minimale Gewinne - die wohl wegen der kleinen Bedeutung auch vorerst so klein bleiben werden.

Allerdings enstanden durch dieses Herunterfahren des direkten Vertriebs zwei Probleme: Rovion war als weiteres Produkt für den direkten Vertrieb gedacht, ebenso sollte diese Schiene bei Launch for Local neben dem Channel-Vertrieb eingesetzt werden. Mit der Kappung des direkten Vetriebs machte der Besitz von Rovion wenig Sinn und man  hat Rovion richtigerweise verkauft - gegenüber dem Kaufpreis sogar mit einem Gewinn, vermutich netto trotzdem mit einem Verlust, da man ein Jahr in diesem Bereich Verluste schrieb, die den Gewinn beim Verkauf vermutlich nicht aufgewogen haben. Und bei Launch for Local hat man ausschließlich auf Channelvertrieb umgestellt, was den Absatz hier sicher langsamer wachsen lässt - aber aus Kostengründen war hier eine andere Entscheidung nicht möglich.
