@der-andere;

Patriot Data Solutions Group to demo free OpenCDX Community at
NIEM Conference
Company to showcase site’s benefits to support integration, information sharing with
statewide case management system
SAN DIEGO – August 18, 2011 – Patriot Scientific Corporation’s (OTCBB: PTSC) wholly-owned subsidiary, Patriot Data Solutions Group’s (PDSG) will demo its OpenCDX Community to attendees at the NIEM National Training Event in Philadelphia next week. Company executives will showcase how the site’s development tools helped support and expedite the integration and information sharing for a wide range of justice and public safety IT initiatives.
OpenCDX.org is a freely accessible, on-line community for Justice and Public Safety professionals as well as other National Information Exchange Model domain practitioners. It is designed to be a one stop community for accessing valuable documentation and resources on creating Information Exchange Package Documentations (IEPDs) that conforms to NIEM, Logical Entity Exchange Specification (LEXS), Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM), Global Reference Architecture (GRA) and Global Federated Identity and Privilege Management (GFIPM) national standards.
The site provides Metadata Registry components, tools and services for sharing and building exchange artifacts from a free and open Community-managed Canonical Data Model. OpenCDX.org offers practitioners and developers in the public sector with the capability to leverage and build re-usable canonical metadata for driving tools and artifact development of standards-based exchanges. The community also contains forums for furthering the state of the art in information sharing.
“Providing hands-on demos at key industry events is indicative of our responsibility and privilege as a leading developer of NIEM-based data integration tools and platforms,” said Thomas Kooy, Vice President of Product Development at PDSG. “We’ve acquired significant subject matter expertise over many different projects and years, discovering what works and what doesn’t. Making this Registry available to organizations free of charge will enable them to continue developing their own data exchange documentations in a timely and effective manner as well as better manage their vendors to do the same. This community registry site will also ensure that we can leverage the expertise of others who have also been ‘in the trenches.’” Demonstrations will be available to conference attendees at the PDSG-OpenCDX Community Hospitality Suite in the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott, Room 600, after 1 p.m. EDT on August 23 and 24. No appointment is necessary.
PSDG executives alongside representatives from Microsoft and the Oklahoma State Courts agency will also be appearing on a panel at one of the NIEM training workshops to discuss how OpenCDX’s development tools helped support and expedite the integration and information sharing with a new statewide case management system project for the state’s judicial agency.
The OpenCDX.org community will continue to evolve with contributions from its members and its sponsor, PDSG. In the upcoming weeks, enhancements to the site’s Registry and the Registry viewer will be introduced, and an Application Programming Interface (API) will be released which will expand the utility of the OpenCDX Registry. This initiative is also part of a larger strategic initiative by PDSG to expand their cloud-based services this year. The Community web site also includes a cloud-based exchange design and test environment using CDX ExchangeBuilder in a SaaS subscription-based licensing model, as well as industry wide updates, notices as current events dictate, and offer members a chance to provide perspectives and suggestions.
Registration is free and available at www.opencdx.org.

PTSC has stated it has no intention of funding PDS this year. There's bound to be legal bills that come in that PDS will have to pay, either directly to a law firm or as a reimbursement to TPL/Alliacense. In addition, the PDS auditors have stated that PDS has a "going concern" problem.
So what happens if PDS ends up in bankruptcy. Well, if I remember my bankruptcy law correctly, and I'm sure LL will correct me if I'm wrong, all contracts are null and void (think ComAg). Two questions/problems arise from this thinking. #1 Is PDS legally responsible for the legal bills, or TPL, or PTSC, or everyone jointly. #2 I believe the ComAg is actually between TPL, Moore and PTSC and PDS was created as an result of the ComAg. So is the ComAg agreement null and void if PDS ends up in BK, or does one of the principles of the ComAg have to be in BK. Perhaps a seasoned lawyer could come up with an argument that a PDS BK filing would void the ComAg. Who knows? I sure don't cuz it would require more DD.
