MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Dec 22, 2015) - Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and CAE announced today that Transport Canada, the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) have awarded Interim Level C qualification on the full-flight simulator (FFS), and qualified the flight training device (FTD) for the all-new CS100 aircraft.
Officials from each of the authorities granted their respective qualifications following final inspection of the simulator and training device located at Bombardier's training centre in Montréal.
"Our teams have been working diligently to achieve the qualifications for the CS100 aircraft training devices and we are delighted that the three regulatory authorities approved in quick succession - particularly as we ramp up our customer support activities in preparation for first delivery and entry-into-service in Q2 2016," said Todd Young, Vice President and General Manager, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "Additionally, 95 per cent of technical publications are complete and operators are accessing these publications through our new online customer portal. We are steadily increasing our team of Field Service Representatives and technicians to service our C Series aircraft customers.
"We are also maintaining a strong focus on supplier management to ensure the team is ready to support our customers with adequate inventory levels and repair capabilities across our worldwide network," added Mr. Young.
"Achieving qualification for the world's first C Series aircraft full-flight simulator marks an important milestone, which highlights the many years of collaborative efforts with our longstanding partner Bombardier," said Nick Leontidis, CAE's Group President, Civil Aviation Training Solutions. "We are honoured that Bombardier has selected us to build the first simulator for the C Series program. By qualifying the first C Series simulator, we ensure Bombardier customers receive the highest fidelity training for its C Series aircraft."

Based on the list price of the Q400 aircraft, the transaction is valued at approximately $63 million US.

"The Q400 aircraft is also our core fleet to our domestic and regional destinations, thereby ensuring excellent passenger experience, operational flexibility and economics.
"We continue to work with Bombardier to support and maintain the aircraft through our approved Q400 Authorized Service Facility and our Q400 aircraft simulator," added Mr. Gebremariam.

In 2013, Ethiopian Airlines joined Bombardier's global network of Authorized Service Facilities (ASFs) for commercial aircraft and performs line and heavy maintenance on Q400 aircraft at its facilities at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa. The ASF works in close collaboration with Bombardier's maintenance network of wholly owned service centres and ASFs, as well as with Bombardier's network of parts hubs and depots, including the Johannesburg Parts Depot. A full-service Bombardier Regional Support Office is also located in Johannesburg.
Ethiopian Airlines has won Airline Reliability Performance Awards from Bombardier for five years in a row.
Dec 31 Canadian planemaker Bombardier Inc said it received a firm order from China Express Airlines for 10 CRJ900 jets for about $462.6 million based on the list price of the aircraft.
China Express, a private regional airline based in Guizhou province, has ordered 38 of these aircraft of which 20 have been delivered to date, Bombardier said.
Up to Wednesday's close shares of the company, which competes with Embraer SA, had fallen nearly 69 percent this year on the Toronto Stock Exchange. (Reporting by Manish Parashar in Bengaluru; Editing by Shounak Dasgupta)

In welche Höhen denkt ihr kann uns BBD heuer fliegen? :)
Das ist alles so schade weil die echt ein gutes Produkt haben das Kanada endlich in die Position bringt ein Export Produkt im Segment Linienflugzeuge zu haben.
Aber da nützt jetzt alles Jammern nichts, wenn Swiss die ersten Maschinen in der Luft hat werden sich ganz schnell andere Fluggesellschaften für die C serie interessieren. Aber eben erst dann !
Punkte die man auf dem Schirm haben sollte in den nächsten Wochen:
- Co-Invest des Staates Kanada; es wird wohl aktuell geprüft auch 1MRD zu investieren, obwohl ich darüber nicht begeistert wäre, da das Unternehmen fürs Erste durchfinanziert ist
- CS100 Orders; hier steht immer noch eine United Order über 50Stück im Raum. Falls die tatsächlich kommt dreht die Stimmung bezüglich der CS100. Andere Fluggesellschaften müssen dann nachziehen, ansonsten warten sie wie bei Airbus und Boeing 5-6 Jahre auf ihre Flieger. Könnte also der Start zu einem Windhundrennen werden
- Rücktritt des Chairman Beaudoin; wäre ein wichtiges Signal an den Markt, dass sich die Eigentümerfamilie aus dem Geschäft rausnimmt und Profis machen lässt. Es gibt Gerüchte dazu und wäre auf alle Fälle ein begrüßenswerter Schritt.
Jetzt heißt es erstmal den Crash aussitzen und hoffen, dass Bombardier nicht zu arg in Mitleidenschaft gezogen wird.

Und dann, wenn meine Informationen nicht gänzlich falsch sind.... geht es wieder ordentlich aufwärts. Also, noch a bisserl die Ohren anlegen, Augen zu und durch.

Yesterday, SWISS' flight crews kicked off their CS100 aircraft flight training in Mirabel, Québec where they will undergo intensive training to prepare for the route-proving flights they will operate alongside Bombardier's flight crew when the CS100 route-proving aircraft flies to Europe in the coming weeks. This follows the completion of the North American route-proving program that included more than 35 cities. During the program, the CS100 aircraft conducted flights using typical airline flight routings and operational procedures.
"It's truly a spectacular sight to see the C Series final assembly line fully stacked with production aircraft in various stages of assembly. The line itself has been designed for maximum production efficiency and our skilled production teams reached a milestone this month when they rolled out the first structurally complete aircraft that will enter service with SWISS in the next few months," said Fred Cromer, President, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "I also had the pleasure of welcoming the first set of SWISS crews to Mirabel as they start their pilot training in anticipation of the European CS100 aircraft route-proving program. The program will be operated from SWISS' own base in Zurich, Switzerland - yet another way we are ensuring a flawless entry-into-service (EIS) alongside our first operator."
"In addition to the C Series aircraft production ramp-up and European route proving, our C Series Program and Engineering teams are working diligently alongside our Customer Services team - transferring employees to various areas for cross-functional training and aircraft familiarization," said Rob Dewar, Vice President, C Series Aircraft Program, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "The timing is perfect as we now ready the European leg of the C Series route-proving program. We are also doing something unique to ensure that SWISS' crews will be ready at delivery and EIS - SWISS' flight crews, once trained, will operate the CS100 route-proving aircraft alongside Bombardier's own flight crews from SWISS' main base of operations. They will use SWISS' schedule, crews, maintenance crews and aircraft destinations - all in the coming weeks."
In December 2015, Bombardier announced that the CS100 aircraft had received its Type Certificate from Transport Canada. Bombardier's CS300 aircraft, the larger model, is on track to obtain its Type Certificate within the next six months as planned. Bombardier will continue to work with Transport Canada to validate the CS100 aircraft's training syllabus.
Canada's Bombardier is hoping to find a major customer to give momentum to the single-aisle CSeries as the jet prepares to enter service after delays and cash problems.
Larger rival Boeing Co already looks well placed to snatch at least part of a deal for about 30 small jets from United Continental Holdings Inc, worth around $2 billion at list prices.
"We actually think at the right price it's quite a competitive airplane, particularly given the engine technology," Delta's Chief Executive Richard Anderson said on the airline's quarterly conference call with investors. "We're taking a very serious look at it."
Delta, the third-largest U.S. airline by capacity, previewed the jet in late December at its Atlanta headquarters.
