vor 2 Stunden - SEOUL, May 19 (Yonhap) -- POSCO, South Korea's top steelmaker, said Monday ... The steelmaker said it wants to move into next generation fuel cells, energy ...
Sure, I'll talk about FCEL, and share a thought that's been bouncing around in my pea-brain for quite some time: why hasn't there been any progress with FCEL in Japan? Yes, I know there are a couple of older units there, but nothing that even remotely addresses their new needs since Fukushima shut down the nuclear industry.
In one of the earlier conference calls, Chip acknowledged dropping the ball (i.e. marketing) in Japan.
Does POSCO's access to SE Asia include Japan? That would be bad, since the two countries really don't get along, for a great many reasons.
Japanese industry has plenty of fuelcell activity, but nothing along the lines of multi MW-class.
So, reading the last press release, here's my speculation: some multinational based in the US (do either Dominion or NRG fit the bill?) is crafting a deal to place fuelcells in Japan, using FCEL products. Given this new 'agreement' between POSCO and FCEL, POSCO does not lose face, Japan gets what they so desperately need (clean, high-quality and efficient 24/7 energy via FCEL park; maybe boil-off gas at LGN terminals), and FCEL makes inroads into a market that is way overdue.

Is FuelCell Energy Still A Good Investment? Ein guter Artikel für Euch!
FuelCell Energy's Advantage
FuelCell Energy has various products which use different inputs to produce clean electricity. The applications of these are also different. Firstly, the company has simpler products which use clean natural gas to produce electricity - unlike Plug Power, which relies on pure hydrogen, and Ballard Power Systems, which uses HydroPlus (A mixture of methanol and water). With the usage of clean natural gas, the availability of fuel becomes easy and transportation and storage costs are decreased. Also, FuelCell Energy offers a complete power generator for large scale electricity production, which broadens its market.

This is driven by a number of negative factors, which we believe should have a greater impact than any strengths, and could make it more difficult for investors to achieve positive results compared to most of the stocks we cover. The company's weaknesses can be seen in multiple areas, such as its deteriorating net income and weak operating cash flow." Highlights from the analysis by TheStreet Ratings Team goes as follows: The company, on the basis of change in net income from the same quarter one year ago, has significantly underperformed when compared to that of the S&P 500 and the Electrical Equipment industry. Von den drei Lieblingen ist nur FCEL grün.
Mal sehen wie es weitergeht.

Plans to build a $4-billion experimental "clean coal plant" in the San Joaquin Valley have touched off fears here that as it generates cleaner electricity, it would foul groundwater and air in a region where airborne pollutants are among the nation's worst.
The Hydrogen Energy California project is touted as a clean alternative to coal-fired power plants, whose emissions are a large contributor to global warming.
The project's owner, SCS Energy LLC of Concord, Mass., says the plant it plans for a 453-acre site west of Bakersfield would produce 100 times less airborne particulates and greenhouse gases than a conventional coal-fired plant.
"We need this technology," said Daniel Schrag, a Harvard geochemist and consultant to SCS Energy. "It can show the way for the United States to de-carbonize its industrial sector."
The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded SCS a grant of $408 million to develop the technology, which would be a boon to coal producing states whose mining-dependent economies are jeopardized by efforts to phase out coal as a source for electrical generation.

Find ich aber schön, dass FC nicht von BP und Plug runtergezogen wird!
Und denke auch, die Zahlen werden gut ausfallen.
