World Discount Telecom Chooses Verso for Network Expansion Verso's turnkey NACT solution to enable service provider to expand long distance services in U.S. and Europe
ATLANTA, May 20, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Verso Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq NMS:
VRSO), an integrated communications solutions company, announced today that it
has been awarded a contract from World Discount Telecom (WDT) to deliver its
NACT switching and billing systems in support of WDT's network expansion in both
the U.S. and Eastern Europe.
WDT provides a variety of pre- and post-paid international and domestic long
distance services around the world.
Under the terms of the agreement, Verso will deliver its NACT STX(TM) gateways,
NTS(TM), provisioning and billing systems, feature-rich prepaid applications,
along with network design, integration and support services. WDT expects to be
running live traffic from all points of presence by the summer of 2003.
"Verso's experience in emerging international markets once again made them the
obvious choice for this expansion project," said Andrew Plocienniczak, founder
and president of WDT. "In each phase of our growth, Verso's experience and their
turnkey approach help us accelerate installation, minimize complexity and speed
deployment. We continue to be extremely satisfied with Verso's technology,
service and support and look forward to continuing this successful partnership
as our expansion in Europe continues."
"More and more, high growth service providers like WDT look to us for turnkey
solutions that not only get them to market quickly with high-quality,
revenue-generating services, but that also deliver the best
price-for-performance technologies to position them for the future," said Steve
Odom, Chairman and CEO of Verso. "Our NACT solutions have been proven time and
time again to address the specific needs of the high-growth service provider
market. We, too, look forward to continuing our successful relationship with
WDT."
Packaged as a virtual "business in a box," Verso's NACT solutions combine
switching gateways, NACT's feature-rich prepaid application, provisioning and
billing platform, professional services and technical support to enable service
providers to roll out revenue-generating prepaid services in just a matter of
weeks. Globally, usage of long distance minutes is experiencing double-digit
annual growth, with prepaid long distance continuing to be the most popular way
to pay for long distances services outside of North America. The U.S. prepaid
calling card market alone is expected to reach $5.3 billion by 2005, according
to research firm IDC.

Fast 50% in 2 Wochen.
