FORT WORTH, Texas, May 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Having been a member of Calloway's Board of Directors since the company went public in 1991, Dr. Stanley Block announced his retirement from the Board, effective May 1. David L. Alexander has been elected by the Board to fill the unexpired term.
Jim Estill, founder and President of Calloway's said, "I value Dr. Block's deep knowledge and reliably steady hand. All of us at Calloway's will miss his involvement on the Board."
Dr. Block offered the Calloway's founders guidance as they developed their business plans in 1986. As a member of the Calloway's Board, he provided invaluable strategic insights as the company navigated the sometimes challenging business environment from 1991 to the present.
Dr. Block currently holds the position of Emeritus Professor of Finance at Texas Christian University. At TCU he was named "Outstanding Instructor" twice in the MBA program, as well as earning the "Dean's Teaching Award" and the "Distinguished Teacher Award for the M.J. Neely School of Business" in 2002. In 2006 he received the "Chancellor's Award" as the University's Outstanding Professor.
David L. Alexander, a Certified Public Accountant, is President and Founder of TCOBIZ Corporation. Since 1993, TCOBIZ has consulted with senior management and owners regarding strategic business planning, acquisitions, mentoring and coaching. Mr. Alexander currently serves as Advisory Director to several enterprises and is Chair of the Membership Committee of the Full-Time MBA Program of Texas A&M University.
