MOUNT LAUREL, N.J., Apr 12, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Mace Security International, Inc. ("Mace") (Nasdaq:MACE), a manufacturer and marketer of security products, today announced the introduction of its new digital video recorder (DVR) product line, the Mace 2004 DVR Series.
NEW TECHNOLOGICAL FEATURES
-- MPEG-4: high compression format having faster broadband
digital streaming over the Internet (real-time and recorded
images).
-- User-Friendly Interface: recorded or real-time video images
can be viewed on the Windows platform without specialized
software.
-- System Integration: camera and DVR feeds can go directly into
a central alarm monitoring system.
-- Internal CD Burner (CDRW): hard drive space can be directly
copied to a digital compact disc for external storage and
transportation to law enforcement agencies.
-- Audio and Video Recording: real-time synchronized audio and
video are recorded on all channels at 30 frames per second.
"We presented our Mace 2004 DVR Series last week at the International Security Conference West. The new features of the Mace 2004 DVR Series were praised at the conference. Mace believes that the products in this line are superior to the other digital video recording products offered by competitors," states the Company. "The Company also plans to introduce other new surveillance products to its dealer and distributors this year. Mace is focused on becoming a leader in the surveillance industry."
The Mace 2004 DVR Series contains four different models:
-- a Four-Channel MPEG-4 DVR w/CDRW;
-- a Four-Channel MPEG-4 Non-Real-Time DVR;
-- an Eight-Channel MPEG-4 DVR w/CDRW; and
-- a 16-Channel MPEG-4 DVR w/CDRW.
Mace's new series of DVRs is a substantial refinement from its earlier models. The new models incorporate the latest technology, and have had extensive quality control and product testing. The Company tested over two hundred of its new DVRs in the field to insure the stability and reliability of its new models. The new DVRs contain high-tech recording features such as simultaneous live or playback viewing on-site or via the Internet (with the option of isolating and zooming in on any particular area of interest). Three of the four Mace 2004 DVRs have an internal CD burner, which allows a user to free hard drive space and record data to a digital compact disc for transport to a storage facility or to law enforcement authorities. Mace's new DVRs also contain advanced web, system integration and synchronized audio and video recording features that are superior to many competing products.
All of Mace's digital video recorders offer the following advanced features: front-panel controls; remote viewing and configuration of camera images through the internet; pan tilt zooming; expandable storage from 80 GB to two terabytes (self-formatting); triplex operation allowing simultaneous viewing of live events, recording and searching of recorded images; high resolution images; and video motion detection (recording only when motion is detected).

NEW YORK, Apr 12, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Media ServicesGroup, Inc. (Nasdaq: MSGI) today announced it has acquired majority ownership inFuture Developments America, Inc., (FDA) representing the first in a series ofcontemplated technology based acquisitions. The terms of the (all cash)transaction were not immediately released.FDA and their Canadian affiliate, purposefully maintains a low public profilebut is gaining rapid recognition in the world of law enforcement andintelligence as an increasingly valuable technology partner. FDA specializes inthe development of application specific and custom-tailored restricted- accessintelligence products, systems and proprietary solutions. Eligible clienteleincludes entities such as homeland security, law enforcement, military andintelligence operations supporting anti-terrorism and national securityinterests.Executives of FDA, with a nineteen-year solid reputation in the electronicsindustry, made a strategic transition six years ago to primarily serve the lawenforcement and military intelligence communities. Their advanced designs havealready gained international recognition. The company now based in New York,Washington, DC and Calgary has focused their operations expertise on becoming aworld leading electronics solutions provider in the field of covert andenvironmentally adapted high-performance observation and surveillance systems,tools and training.After an extensive development cycle, Future Developments LTD, the Canadianaffiliate, has produced a breakthrough surveillance technology that now openscountless new opportunities for digital wireless transmission with virtually nochance of enemy decoding. The impact on 'human intelligence gathering' should besignificant. The new generation technology and its subsequent spin-offs shouldraise to a higher level this major platform for addressing national security,anti-terrorism and organized crime issues. Formerly thought to be 'impossible toengineer, given current technology', military sources recently stated the beliefthat this technology is at least two years ahead of the nearest competitor. FDAhas the exclusive United States rights to such technology. Although exact datesfor initial deployment of the devices cannot be disclosed for obvious securityreasons, market results are expected to begin to appear during our first fiscalquarter beginning July 1, 2004.Jeremy Barbera, Chairman and CEO commented, "We are excited to begin ouracquisition strategy with a unique technology-based developer of products andservices which have already proven vital to the critical needs of the securityindustries. The recent successful sale of our Los Angeles operations hasprovided the catalyst for MSGI to build a global combination of innovativebusinesses that leverage information and technology.""We are optimistic that FDA should generate revenues in excess of $10 millionfor the fiscal year ending June 30, 2005 yielding double-digit pretax income.MSGI has also entered into a letter of intent to acquire majority ownership ofFuture Developments Ltd, the Canadian affiliate, which is presently engaged indeveloping an industrial sector platform. FDA plans on forming a Europeansubsidiary to extend their expertise by providing covert electronic surveillancesystems to NATO nations. In a world increasingly plagued by terrorism, we are inurgent need of the best available resources to combat these forces.
