Falls jemand noch andere Threads zum Thema gefunden hat kann er sie gerne zufügen. Für diejenigen die in Zukunft neue Wasser-Threads eröffnen möchten: wär es doch ganz schön und praktisch das dann über diese Gruppe zu tun. Dann wär alles zusammen und der Informationsaustausch bestmöglich verwirklicht.

Trinkwasser enthält in Deutschland zum Teil zu viel Uran. foodwatch liegen 950 Messwerte vor, die höher sind als 2 Mikrogramm Uran pro Liter. Diesen Wert hat der Gesetzgeber als Grenzwert für Mineralwasser festgelegt, das als "zur Herstellung von Säuglingsnahrung geeignet" beworben wird. Für das Wasser aus der Leitung gibt es bisher keinen Grenzwert.
foodwatch hat im Frühjahr 2008 die zuständigen Landesbehörden aller 16 Bundesländer über die jeweiligen konkreten Uranbelastungen im Trinkwasser befragt und die Antworten ausgewertet. Das Ergebnis: Trinkwasser enthält in Deutschland vielfach mehr als 2 Mikrogramm des giftigen Schwermetalls Uran pro Liter (µg/l). Fast jeder achte der knapp 8.200 übermittelten Werte liegt darüber. Bei in Flaschen abgefülltem Mineralwasser darf dieser Wert nicht überschritten werden, wenn Hersteller ihr Wasser als "geeignet für die Zubereitung von Säuglingsnahrung" bewerben wollen. Rund 150 der gemeldeten Messdaten liegen sogar über 10 µg/l. Diesen Wert gibt das Umweltbundesamt als Höchstwert an, bis zu dem bei Erwachsenen keine gesundheitlichen Schäden zu erwarten sind. Das Schwermetall Uran schädigt vor allem die Niere. foodwatch fordert, einen gesetzlichen Grenzwert von 10 µg/l einzuführen. Ab 2 µg/l Uran sollten die Wasserversorger die Bevölkerung warnen, damit Säuglinge und Kleinkinder kein uranhaltiges Leitungswasser trinken.
- Höchstwerte in Bayern und Baden-Württemberg
Da die Länder den Urangehalt nicht flächendeckend erheben und veröffentlicht haben, kann die foodwatch-Recherche nur ein Überblicksbild liefern. Tendenziell ist die Uranbelastung des Trinkwassers in Süddeutschland höher als im übrigen Bundesgebiet. "Spitzenwerte" von 39 µg/l hat beispielsweise das Gesundheitsamt Haßberge für Maroldsweisach in Bayern gemeldet. Der Landkreis Waiblingen in Baden-Württemberg meldet mehrere Orte mit Werten über 20 µg/l Uran.
