$SPEX Some Patent cases are winning Big in Texas!! Just sayin'!! Tick Tock!! Litigator of the Week! http://t.co/P3eLLe9mUA via @TexasLawyer

Spherix not part of Rockstar settlement with Cisco $188 million good or bad.
Rockstar is the major shareholder of Spherix and partnered in Spherix lawsuits ( legal ideas, technical ideas and both in active lawsuits with Cisco). Cisco has announced terms of settlement with Rockstar for $188 million Hayes has made a statement that Spherix is not part of this settlement.
What does this all mean?
The biggest tell in the highstakes poker game that Spherix is playing with the help of Rockstar ,is the overwhelming silence on the part of Spherix with regard to all other legal activities it is involved with.
The counter lawsuit with Cisco against Spherix has been shut down as part of Rockstar's settlement. The Rockstar settlement with Cisco before any Marksman hearings validated value for Nortel patents. $188 million dollars is no small amount of money.
All this points to a game of chicken between Spherix(Rockstar is the major share holder) and Cisco. Is the settlement with Rockstar a prelude to a much bigger settlement with Spherix? The fact that Cisco settled with Rockstar based on Nortel patents will make it all that much harder for Cisco to fight Spherix in court.
What was the point of Spherix announcing that they weren't part of the Rockstar $188 million settlement? Less
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Der Post beinhaltet keine Fakten sondern Spekulationen warum Spherix sich in Stillschweigen in Sachen Cisco hüllt.
Nicht relevant.
Will this speed up settlement negotiations?

"WASHINGTON – The Supreme Court is taking up a patent infringement dispute between computer networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. and rival Commil USA LLC.
The justices said Friday they will consider a federal appeals court's decision to throw out a $64 million jury verdict against Cisco for allegedly infringing Commil's patent for wireless technology.
A divided U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled that the jury should have considered evidence of Cisco's good-faith belief that Commil's patent was invalid.
Commil argues that the appeals court's ruling undermines the Patent Act's ability to deter infringement. But Cisco says its reasonable belief that the patent was invalid can be raised as a defense.
The case will be argued in March."
------------------------
I was always told that ignorance of the law is no excuse, but ignorance of a USPTO approved patents validity is an excuse? They are no longer contesting the validity of the patent but instead are claiming they cannot be penalized because they thought the patent was invalid. They may want to settle all the outstanding cases they can before this ruling which could result in elevated future damages for them.
