Renishaw Plc engages in the design, manufacture and marketing of advanced precision metrology and inspection equipment.
It operates through the following business segments: Metrology and Healthcare products.
The Metrology segment includes machine tool probe systems, co-ordinate measuring machine, styli for probe systems, performance testing products, gauging, large scale metrology, fixtures, materials research, position encoders and additive manufacturing.
The Healthcare segment includes dental scanners, dental cad software, dental milling machines, dental structures manufacturing service, neurosurgical robot, neurosurgical planning software, neurosurgical implantables, raman microscopes, combined raman systems, structural and chemical analyzer, in situ monitors and diagnostic systems.
The company was founded by David Roberts McMurtry and Daniel John Deer on April 4, 1973 and is headquartered in Wotton-under-Edge, the United Kingdom.
