PowerCold Corporation designs, develops and markets energy efficient heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems (HVACR) and energy related products for commercial and residential use. Air conditioning and refrigeration are two of the more energy intensive operational costs many businesses face. Increasing power costs have prompted corporations of all sizes to focus both on energy savings and indoor air quality. PowerCold’s proprietary energy efficient products reduce power costs by up to 40% for air conditioning, refrigeration and on-site building power through the use of evaporative condenser cooling technology when compared to standard air cooled condensing technology.

PowerCold is in the Evaporative Heat Rejection Business with products positioned for the Green Building Movement. PowerCold’s leading technology is supporting a major Paradigm Shift in the multi billion $ HVACR industry has adopted a unique evaporative cooling technology for the conversion from dry cooling to evaporative cooling systems. PowerCold’s business plan focuses on developing innovative polymer technology and producing proprietary PlexCoil® polymer coil products for the multi-billion dollar heat exchanger market. PowerCold® uses polymer tubing in its PlexCoil® polymer heat exchangers and fluid coolers.

PowerCold® recently expanded its product line offering by introducing its new proprietary evaporative Fluid Coolers that employs an evaporative heat exchanger constructed from polymer tubing which is encased in a non-corrosive cabinet housing. This product serves the high volume 25 to 300 ton commercial water source heat pump market, 5 to 25 ton geothermal heat pump market and numerous process and industrial cooling applications. These markets are currently served primarily by galvanized steel constructed units utilizing evaporative coils constructed from either galvanized steel or copper. These products have the following limitations:

Corrosion (galvanized steel rusts and corrodes from aggressive water)
Scale buildup on heat transfer coils (requires expensive chemical treatment to minimize mineral concentrations)
Inefficient water usage (requires water usage on cool summer nights, spring and fall)
Heavy weight (steel and copper coils are heavy and require significant structural support)
Escalating raw material costs (steel and copper prices have increased over the past few years and are expected to continue at higher levels due to increasing demand)
PowerCold has focused product development and marketing efforts to address these limitations. The Company’s current product offerings include complete systems and sub-assemblies for commercial applications that utilize several unique advantages. The new line of fluid coolers has the following features:

Non corrosive material and polymer tubing construction to resist corrosion
Scale does not build on polymer micro tubing allowing for higher cycles of water concentration thereby significantly reducing chemical usage
Polymer tubing utilizes 3 to 5 times the heat transfer surface area of galvanized and copper coils, thereby allowing for complete dry operation at much higher ambient temperatures. Dry operation can be an operating strategy to significantly reduce water and chemical usage
Fluid Cooler units made from non-corrosive and polymer tubing materials are much lighter than units made from metal material
Plastic material prices have been relatively more stable than metals
PowerCold Products
Nauticon® WDFC Fluid Coolers (Polymer Coils): PowerCold has introduced new evaporative fluid coolers utilizing polymer tubing and non-corrosive housing. The advantage of the extended heat transfer surface of the plastic tubing is that it can operate either dry or wet.

Nauticon® WDEC Evaporative Condensers (Copper Coils): Nauticon applications include use as evaporative condensers, fluid coolers, sub-coolers, refrigeration system components and custom refrigeration products for commercial use. Nauticon products reduce air condition and refrigeration power cost by up to 40% when used as a replacement for air-cooled condensers.

BreezeMaster™ Geothermal Fluid Cooler (Polymer Coils): The BreezeMaster System, designed for use in small commercial and residential building applications, is a closed loop cooler that replaces ground source water systems reducing replacement and installation costs.

Environmental Air Treatment System (Central HVAC): Proprietary Integrated Piping Technology for large commercial buildings. Utilizes fire sprinkler piping to circulate the cooling water around the building and the domestic hot water lines to distribute heating energy to individual fan coils. (Currently a licensed product)

The introduction of polymer based heat transfer coils into the evaporative heat transfer market is timely. There is a paradigm shift underway as small tonnage (less than 500 tons) system owners want the 40% savings of evaporative heat rejection but are concerned about water usage and management. PowerCold’s PlexCoil® uniquely resolves these issues. PowerCold’s polymer technology can be applied to many other HVACR applications including the following products, which are future R&D programs.

DesertMaster™ (Desiccant Technology): The dehumidification desiccant system is used to remove the moisture from building’s internal areas. The new patented DuPont™ polymer technology was recently assigned to PowerCold.

PlexCoil® Fan Coils (Heat Exchangers): Polymer Fan Coils are non corroding, smooth, light weight and provide good heat transfer while minimizing microbe growth. Traditional Fan Coil Units use copper coil with aluminum fins that corrode, loose their heat transfer and grow microbe from moisture build up.

PlexCoil® Base Board Coils (Heat Exchangers): Convection Baseboard Heating used in more that 90% of European homes is more efficient in overall heating effect. Less cost, low maintenance and longevity with polymer coils

Over the past few years, the Company has acquired and developed various technologies related to the HVAC industry and employed experienced and qualified industry professionals. January 1, 2006, PowerCold initiated a business plan focusing on developing innovative polymer technology and producing proprietary PlexCoil® plastic products for the multi-billion dollar heat exchanger market.

PowerCold will concentrate on producing and marketing high gross margin proprietary polymer products. The Company will also focus on equipment-packaged sales for commercial buildings utilizing its patented Environmental Treatment System. The Company expects substantial product growth and higher gross profit margins by focusing its sales efforts on three markets: direct end user national chain customers, OEM companies, and licensing its proprietary Environmental Treatment System technology.
