Freier Handel der Royal Mail
startet heute - Dividende geplant
Gespeichert von Redaktion MyDiv... am/um 15. Oktober 2013 - 9:10
http://www.mydividends.de/content/...-startet-heute-dividende-geplant

http://www.wienerzeitung.at/nachrichten/...el-glorios-verramscht.html
London.

Dividends will normally be paid twice a year to shareholders and are a distribution of a portion of the company's profits.

http://www.royalmailgroup.com/investors/...tions/dividend-information

We normally announce dividends at the same time as the annual and half-year results. Dividends are paid on a half-yearly basis. Royal Mail’s financial year end runs to the last Sunday in March each year. For each financial year it is our intention to pay any interim dividend in December or January and any final dividend in July or August subject to shareholder approval at the AGM.

A hedge fund with a reputation for aggressive campaigning to boost company performance has become the biggest shareholder in newly-privatised Royal Mail (>> Royal Mail PLC) after the British government.

The Children's Investment Fund (TCI) has bought a 5.8 percent stake in the postal firm, which listed on the London stock market in a high-profile float earlier this month.

According to a regulatory announcement on Tuesday, TCI bought almost 58.2 million shares worth around 286 million pounds at its current share price of 492 pence.

The privatisation of Royal Mail has been heavily criticised by opposition lawmakers and labour unions fearful of changes to their pay and conditions.

The shares rocketed almost 50 percent above their 330 pence issue price, sparking criticism that government had undervalued one of Britain's biggest state sell-offs in decades.

As part of the privatisation, Royal Mail staff will be handed 10 percent of the postal firm. Government currently holds a 37.8 percent stake.

While the influence of activist hedge funds has waned since the credit crisis, publicity-shy TCI is still considered a significant name on a shareholder register.

In August it demanded changes in corporate strategy at aerospace company EADS (>> EADS) and in 2007 launched an attack on ABN AMRO that helped trigger the Dutch bank's sale.

Among its high-profile executive scalps is Deutsche Boerse's then chairman and CEO following a row about its bid for the London Stock Exchange.

But it ran into trouble in a tussle with Japanese electricity firm J-Power, when it lost a reported $130 million, helping push its main fund to a 40 percent loss in 2008.

Chris Hohn, who set up TCI, is estimated to have a 150 million pound fortune, according to this year's Sunday Times Rich List.

SINGAPORE - Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC disclosed in a filing on Friday that it holds a 4.1 per cent stake in the newly-privatised British postal operator Royal Mail, making it the second-largest investor after controversial hedge fund the Children’s Investment Fund.

http://www.todayonline.com/business/gic-boosts-stake-royal-mail-41

http://translate.google.de/...siness%2Fgic-boosts-stake-royal-mail-41

According to the filing, GIC increased its holding from 29.75 million to 41 million shares.

A GIC spokesperson confirmed the investment but declined to comment further.

The London-based Children’s Investment Fund owns a 5.8 per cent stake in the 500-year-old delivery service, which listed on the London stock market in a high-profile float earlier this month.

According to a regulatory announcement on Tuesday, the hedge fund bought almost 58.2 million shares worth about 286 million pounds (S$573.4 million) at its current share price of 492 pence.

The privatisation of Royal Mail has been heavily criticised by opposition lawmakers and labour unions fearful of changes to their pay and conditions.

The shares have rocketed almost 50 per cent above their 330 pence issue price, sparking criticism that government had undervalued one of Britain’s biggest state sell-offs in decades.

As part of the privatisation, Royal Mail staff will be handed 10 per cent of the postal firm. The British government currently holds a 37.8 per cent stake.

Earlier reports said JPMorgan had told ministers ahead of the Royal Mail flotation that they could sell the postal business for 10 billion pounds, around two and a half times more than the 3.3 billion pounds the government finally received for it.

The official float figure excluded about 800 million pounds of debt, which included would give the state-owned business an “enterprise value” of 4.1 billion pounds but still almost 6 billion pounds lower than the price tag suggested by JPMorgan.

The US bank declined to comment but well-placed sources confirmed the figure of 10 billion pounds and made clear that others pitching to sell the Royal Mail on behalf of the government had also priced the mail company as high as 7 billion pounds. Agencies

Royal Mail shares rise again as Panmure puts £5.7bn valuation on business
City firm which first suggested business was undervalued raises valuation estimate

Royal Mail shares are moving higher again, as one of the earliest City brokers to suggest it was undervalued has upped its valuation.

Panmure Gordon's Gert Zonneveld said a week before the flotation that the business could be worth £3.7bn to £4.5bn, compared to the sale price of £3.3bn.

Now Zonneveld has issued a note putting a 570p target on the business, valuing it at £5.7bn. The news comes a day after it emerged JP Morgan told ministers before the sell-off that Royal Mail could be worth £10bn, and in the same week hedge fund TCI became the company's second biggest shareholder behind the UK government.

In the market the shares have added another 3p to 532p. At their peak since flotation the shares reached 545p. In Panmure's latest comments Zonneveld said:

The exceptional attractiveness of the IPO prompted us to rush into print with a pre-IPO pre-initiation note. Now that the dust has settled we have been able to carry out a more thorough review. Despite the strong share price performance since listing, we believe there is still meaningful upside potential on a 12 month view and beyond. We initiate coverage with a buy recommendation and 570p target price.
He said the regulatory regime was attractive, productivity improvements should help the business and its financial position was healthy (although there is no mention of the effects of strike action). He said:

The new regulatory framework (from March 2012) gives Royal Mail significantly greater commercial freedom to set prices for its services. Access mail, which used to be significantly lossmaking, became profitable last year and, with only 5% of revenues under direct price control (was 60%), Royal Mail should have sufficient operational and pricing flexibility to achieve the 5%-10% earnings margins on the reported business which Ofcom considers a reasonable return.

Targeted productivity improvements of 2%-3% per annum should help contain cost increases. Even though the key elements of the programme should be substantially completed by the end of 2013/14, we expect further improvements in terms of mail centre rationalisation, walk sequencing, handheld scanning and delivery office modernisation. From next year, the focus is expected to be on ongoing network optimisation, fleet investment, technology investment and automation evaluation.

Risks such as e-substitution and competition remain, but in the current regulatory regime Royal Mail is better equipped to manage these risks and achieve good profitability.

Cash generation should be strong, particularly once transformation related outflows decelerate. Including potential property disposals (three key London properties could generate over £330m) the company could have net cash at the end of 2015/16 (net debt at the end of June 2013 of £796m).Bewertungsmethoden Schätzung

Royal Mail has seen its half-year profits rise, driven by growing revenue from its parcel business, in its first set of results since its shares were listed on London's stock market.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25106394

google übersetzer:

http://translate.google.de/...%2Fnews%2Fbusiness-25106394&act=url

Pre-tax profits were £233m for the six months to 29 September, up from £94m a year earlier, excluding special items.

But Royal Mail said a one-off windfall resulting from a pension reform boosted overall pre-tax profits to £1.58bn.

A 60% stake in Royal Mail was sold on the London Stock Exchange last month.

The shares went on sale at 330p each, but immediately soared in value, leading to accusations that the sale had been underpriced.

Business Secretary Vince Cable will face a select committee hearing later over concerns the postal service was undervalued.

Volumes stall

In its statement, Royal Mail reported that its revenues had grown by 2% on a like-for-like basis to £4.52bn.

It also said parcels now accounted for 51% of its revenue.

But the volume of sales in the parcel business stalled in the summer amid good weather, and Royal Mail has admitted some business was lost to its competitors over the prospect of a strike.

Business from letters continued to decline.

"Our first half financial performance was in line with our expectations of delivering low single digit revenue growth and margin expansion," said Royal Mail chief executive Moya Greene.

Richard Hunter, Head of Equities at Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers said: "The combined UK Parcels and GLS [General Logistics Systems] divisions now account for just over half of group revenue which provides both opportunities as well as potentially inviting more entrants into a fiercely competitive space."

He added that Royal Mail's efforts to reduce costs were helping the company move in the right direction.

Last week, the regulator, Ofcom, told Royal Mail it must improve "important aspects" of its service.

It said Royal Mail had missed key performance targets, and warned that it could be fined if it missed targets in the future.

Two months after its successful but controversial flotation Royal Mail is set to join the FTSE 100.
http://www.theguardian.com/business/...06/royal-mail-ftse-100-us-jobs
The company's shares hit a new peak last week and are now around 80% higher than its 330p flotation price, which continues to provoke criticism the business was sold off too cheaply by the government.

News that it had reached an agreement with unions on pay and pensions to avert a strike during the festive season was the latest spur to the share price, helping push it to a high of 603.5p. On Friday a bout of profit taking saw it dip 2p to 594.5p but analysts are still enthusiastic. Espirito Santo for one repeated its buy recommendation and 635p price target on Thursday. Analyst Alex Paterson said:

We anticipate that the cyclical recovery in the UK should help slow the decline in letter volumes and revenues will benefit from higher prices for both letters and parcels. Three of the biggest value drivers are the slow rate of Government e-substitution, Ofcom's defensive view of end-to-end competition and the potential to reach an agreement for more flexible staffing.

And next Wednesday, Royal Mail is likely to be confirmed as a member of Britain's leading 100 listed companies, with another recent flotation, Merlin Entertainments, having an outside chance of joining it. Vedanta Resources, Croda International and Amec are among the companies whose FTSE 100 positions are under threat.

Overall, the US Federal Reserve again dominated the week. A series of positive US economic figures, including strong GDP growth in the third quarter, raised the prospect the Fed might begin to trim back its $85bn a month bond buying programme - a key support to the markets in recent months - earlier than expected. Until now, investors had believed the Fed would keep the money taps on until next year, but the idea is gaining ground that chairman Ben Bernanke could act at this month's meeting.

Friday's non-farm payroll numbers seemed to add more fuel to the fire after they came in stronger than expected, with 203,000 jobs added in November and the unemployment rate falling to a lower than forecast 7%.

But after recent weakness, markets decided to take the job figures as good news for global economic growth, and ignore the prospect of an early move by the Fed to taper its economic stimulus. Marcus Bullus, trading director at MB Capital, said:

With the resurgent economy able to sail over hurdles like the [recent] US government shutdown without missing a step, there is a growing consensus that it will take tapering in its stride just as easily.

So after five days of decline, the FTSE 100 finished at 6551.99 on Friday, up 53.66 on the day but down almost 100 points on the week.

Royal Mail Group PLC Is The Ideal Dividend Investment
By Prabhat Sakya - Monday, 18 August, 2014 | See also: RMGROYMF0

inShare
royal mailAt its most basic, investing is really about buying shares when they are cheap, and selling them when they are expensive.

Whether you are a value investor, a dividend investor or a growth investor, this contrarian principle should be at the heart of how you invest.

When Royal Mail Group (LSE: RMG) was privatised, most investors could see this company was a bargain. And so I, like many other canny investors, bought in.

A share price that rocketed
As both small investors and the institutions piled in, Royal Mail’s share price rocketed from the launch price of 330p to 570p. At which point I could see that the share price would not keep rising like this forever. So I sold.

You can’t predict the future, but you can stack the odds in your favour. When the share price has increased as much as Royal Mail did, it seemed logical to sell. But I knew I would still keep tabs on this company, ready to buy in if the share price pulled back.

And, sure enough, Royal Mail’s share price has been on a downward trend since those early share price highs. At a share price of 435p, suddenly this company looks interesting again.

Why has the share price fallen? Well, the company faces some headwinds. In particular, although the parcels business is growing steadily, it faces increasing competition from other postal companies. And the letters business faces competition through the direct delivery of letters by companies such as TNT.

Yet now might just be the time to buy back in
Yet there are also many positives: the parcel business is growing substantially faster than the letters business is declining. And there is the potential to increase its profit margins from its current 4.6% to the more typical 8-10% of its peers. Plus there is the scope to expand internationally.

Check the fundamentals and the company is very reasonably priced, with a P/E ratio of 12, falling to 11. And there is an attractive dividend yield of 4.6%, increasing to 4.8%.

This is the sort of company that should suit dividend investors down to a T, with a high and rising dividend yield, and profits, and thus a share price, which are likely to grow with time.

This company is strong, stable and generates a tonne of cash. These are the reasons why Neil Woodford has recently bought in. And why I think you should, too.

How to create dividends for life
There are so many ways to invest, depending on your temperament, your interest, and how close you are to retirement. But perhaps the most popular approach is dividend investing.

This is investing in companies which produce a high and rising income, and are also likely to increase their profits and their share price. We at the Fool think that this is an approach that could benefit many investors, and so we have written a free guide all about this technique.
