Cougar Energy hat mit seinem Vergasungsprojekt Mist gebaut und das Grundwasser verpestet.
Queensland hat die Genehmigung für Cougar zur Vergasung von Kohle am 28.1. zurückgezogen und denkt über ein generelles Verbot von Kohlevergasung nach.
Es gibt weltweit noch nicht ein einziges funktionierendes Projekt.
Totalverlust droht.
Das mögliche generelle UCG Verbot habe ich aus Meldungen australischer Börsenseiten.

Cougar Energy fechtet die Entscheidung an:"There is no evidence of contamination of any kind and certainly not environmental harm, therefore it seems logical to us that we should be allowed to continue," managing director Dr Len Walker told AAP.
Cougar hat Zeit bis 28.2.2011 die Regierung zu überzeugen, daß hier keine Gefahr besteht. Sollte die Regierung nicht einlenken, gehen sie vor Gericht. Anscheinend geht es um gefundene Benzene, die knapp über der Trinkwasserverordnung liegen. Cougar reklamiert hier Fehler im Report. Das Verbot betrifft nur Cougar. Linc Energy Ltd. und Carbon Energy Ltd. sind lt. Premierministerin Anna Bligh ausdrücklich nicht davon betroffen.

Es scheint also ein Cougar spezifisches Problem zu sein.
Aber wir werden da am Ball bleiben.

Hab mir noch mal ein paar Gedanken dazu gemacht, und etwas recherchiert.
Die Geschichte mit Cougar war ja im Juli 2010. Andrew Haythorpe (CEO von Liberty) und Ouro Pty Ltd. haben zw. 16. Sept. 2010 u. 19. Jan. 2011 9,5 Mio. Aktien am Markt (!) zu Marktpreisen gekauft.http://www.businessspectator.com.au/bs.nsf/...enDocument&src=srch . Das würden sie wohl kaum machen, wenn sie da irgendwas befürchten würden.

PS: Hab heute kaum Zeit den Report genau durchzulesen, vllt. kann jemand das machen und eine kleine Zusammenfassung schreiben, ob es was neues gibt (Der Kurs erholt sich anscheinend derzeit von seinem Tief…)
Whether Liberty will be granted a UCG licence in Queensland is hard to ascertain and this poses a risk for the company.
Except for the three exclusive tenures (Linc Energy MDL 309, Carbon Energy MDL 374, and Cougar‟s MDL 385), the Queensland Government has not granted approval to any other UCG pilot projects, and has just shut down Cougar‟s Kingaroy project due to environmental concerns. This underlines the current policy position to not grant any further tenures, at least until the expert panel‟s findings are actioned. The only exception is a discretion granted to the Minister to approve additional UCG pilot projects where the project has "a strong ability to further demonstrate the efficacy of UCG technology"4. As a result, Liberty will have to obtain Government approval under that exception in order to undertake any UCG component of the project, and may need to focus on using other gas sources as discussed in the models above.
Whichever source of gas is used, Liberty will need to obtain the necessary government permits and approvals before undertaking this project. As mentioned above, a project of this scale would be required to undertake an EIS to satisfy the Queensland and Australian governments that the environment is not significantly impacted. Additionally, Liberty will need to obtain land and water use permits and permissions. The recent action in relation to Cougar‟s project outlines the importance of adequately addressing environmental and community concerns.
In addition, the regulatory arena governing petroleum, gas, and mining projects in Queensland is changing, mostly in response to issues arising in relation to coal seam gas projects. Should the Government require additional assessments or permits, extra costs or delays could impact upon the project. Liberty Resources would need to ensure they attend to all the necessary approvals early in order to meet their targeted production dates.
Should Liberty decide to undertake the project in another jurisdiction where it holds coal interests (eg South Australia or Canada), the same environmental and regulatory concerns will need to be addressed.

Fertiliser Advisory and Agency Agreement with RLF Group – China, Australia
- The RLF Group is a fertiliser manufacturer, agent and distributor.
- It supplies fertilizer to some of the largest consumers of urea in China.
- This is a key step for Liberty to develop a world class fertiliser export industry in Queensland.
- It will also assist Liberty in negotiating project finance for the urea fertiliser projects.
Liberty Resources Limited (ASX:LBY) is pleased to announce that it has signed an international Advisory and Agency agreement with Rural Liquid Fertilisers Pty Ltd (RLF) and Rural Liquid Fertilisers China (Kaifeng) Co. Ltd (RLF China).
Managing Director of Liberty Resources, Andrew Haythorpe said the agreement between Liberty Resources Ltd and the RLF Group will expedite project finance and offtake discussions for the Company’s proposed Urea fertiliser industry in Queensland.
“The partnership with the RLF Group will give us unprecedented access to large and well established fertiliser producers and distributors” he said. “The RLF Group will also assist with strategy, advice and management of Liberty’s future Urea production and marketing activities.”
“This is an invaluable step towards Liberty delivering its project opportunities in Queensland” Mr Haythorpe said yesterday.
RLF is an ISO-9002 quality assured world-class manufacturer and supplier of crop nutrition products. RLF has an established network of Chinese government and industry alliances which provide Liberty with an excellent marketing and distribution platform for future Liberty fertiliser product.
Through its primary China distribution partner, Sinochem Group, RLF has access to more than 2300 Sinochem branded distribution centres and 40,000 Chinese agricultural fertiliser and chemical retailers. Sinofert (a Sinochem Chinese subsidiary) sells more than 15 million tonnes of granular fertiliser annually.
Managing Director of the RLF Group, Mr Ken Hancock said the Liberty Resources syngas urea project represents an exciting opportunity for Australia to become a significant supplier in the global fertiliser market with a particular focus on the growing consumption requirements for urea in Asia.
“RLF’s experience in fertiliser manufacturing, procurement and distribution combined with an established network of government and industry contacts and local presence is expected to assist Liberty Resources to quickly gain access to some of the largest consumers of urea in China” he said. “I’m very pleased to be making this joint announcement with Liberty Resources” said Mr Hancock today."

vielleicht kommt ja morgen eine reaktion oder vielleicht stehen momentan die probleme um das stillstehende UCG projekt von cougar minerals im fordergrund. weiß der geier. ich hab mich auf längeres warten eingestellt und vielleicht gehts ja auch noch mal bergab, wer weiß.
