Identix's BioLogon for Windows 2000 Distributed to
2,000 Microsoft Technical Sales Reps, Sales
Engineers, Sales Reps

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2000--Identix Inc. (AMEX:IDX -
news) Tuesday announced that demonstration kits containing its BioLogon(TM) for Windows 2000 software were distributed
to 2,000 members of Microsoft Corp.'s (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) global field sales force.

BioLogon was featured at Microsoft's Global Summit in July 2000, during which Compaq (NYSE:CPQ - news) provided
demo kits containing Identix BioLogon for Windows 2000-based software, along with Compaq Fingerprint Identification
Technology readers, to Microsoft technical sales reps, sales engineers and sales representatives.

The demo kits enable the Microsoft sales force to demonstrate Identix's biometric security solutions with Windows 2000.
BioLogon inherently supports multi-factor authentication in any combination of biometric, smart card, PIN or password.

Grant Evans, Identix executive vice president, commented: ``By providing our security solutions to its sales force, Microsoft has
taken a large step forward towards positioning itself to meet the demand from users of Windows 2000 for biometric security.
Multi-factor security, including biometrics, is critical for enterprise and Internet confidence.

``This will continue to become increasingly apparent as wireless applications expand to the Web. We believe Microsoft's
selection of BioLogon as a solution to demonstrate Windows 2000 security acutely raises the visibility of Identix as a leader in
authentication security.''

``When Microsoft demonstrated BioLogon for Windows 2000 during the keynote address at the Microsoft Global Sales
Summit in July, the audience literally cheered, confirming the timeliness of this solution for robust network user authentication
that reduces the user burden of remembering and typing multiple passwords,'' said Mike Chaudoin, director of product
marketing for Identix's security division.

``We are excited that Microsoft has chosen to demonstrate BioLogon as a security solution for Windows 2000, and look
forward to continued opportunities to work with Microsoft.''

BioLogon for Windows 2000 extends the Active Directory schema to provide a secure solution seamlessly integrated into
Microsoft's latest operating system. By taking advantage of the security architecture of Windows 2000's Active Directory,
BioLogon extends user and administrative security over applications, files, buttons, features, encryption options for documents
and e-mail, and network accesses.

Shipment of BioLogon for Windows 2000 in English began in September 2000, and Identix plans to ship BioLogon for
Windows 2000 in multiple language versions at the end of December 2000.

Wenn Sie den Fuß bei Windows 2000 reinbekommen, ist alles paletti!

Identix Awarded King County Live Scan Business

Wins Live Scan Awards for New Installation and Additional
Workstations; Contracts Valued in Excess of $1.8 Million

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Amex: IDX - news), a worldwide leader in providing
biometric authentication, security and identification solutions, announced today that it was awarded a contract through
Sacramento, CA-based NEC Technologies, Inc. to provide King County, WA with 22 NEC/LS-21(TM) Live Scan systems.
The contract is valued in excess of $1 million to Identix. The NEC LS 21 workstation delivered by Identix integrates NEC's
AFIS (Automated Fingerprint Identification System) with Identix Live Scan technology.

The Company also announced that it received a follow-on order valued in excess of $800,000 from the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS) for 17 Identix TouchPrint(TM) 600 Live Scan systems. These new systems are in addition to the 34 Identix
TP-600 systems the IRS is currently utilizing. The new systems will be used to process background checks for prospective IRS
employees. Both contracts were booked and shipped in the first quarter of fiscal 2001 ended September 30, 2000.

According to Identix President and Interim CEO James P. Scullion, King County, a new installation for Identix, has deployed
the 22 Live Scan systems throughout the County for law enforcement use only. The local agencies will transmit fingerprints for
positive identification to King County for a local search. The records will then be processed through the State AFIS.

Identix's Imaging Division Vice President and General Manager, Daniel Dellegrotti, commented, ``These awards are significant
because they represent further penetration by Identix into new markets, as well as continued support by current customers of
our market-leading technology. Identix is the leader in supplying Live Scan Imaging Systems for the law enforcement and
applicant marketplaces. With numerous statewide contracts and deployment in more than 30 states, we have more installations
than any other company supplying Live Scan equipment,'' Dellegrotti said. ``We look forward to continuing to grow our Live
Scan business through the addition of additional new customers, as well as by adding to the installed base of our existing
customers.''

Identix Reports Strong Consolidated Fiscal First
Quarter Revenue Of $21.4 Million, up 22% Over Last
Fiscal First Quarter

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Amex: IDX - news), a worldwide leader in providing
biometric authentication, security and identification solutions, today reported that fiscal 2001 first quarter revenue rose 22
percent to $21.4 million, when compared to revenue of $17.5 million in the year-earlier period. The net loss for the quarter was
$3.5 million, or $0.10 per share, before an expected one-time charge of $1.3 million related to the investment in Identix by
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT - news) in July 2000. This compares to a loss of $3.5 million, or $0.11 per share, in the first
quarter of the previous fiscal year. The net loss, including the expected one-time charge, was $4.7 million, or $0.14 per share.

Newly appointed Identix CEO Robert McCashin commented, ``I joined Identix because of the bright future I believe lies
ahead for our industry-leading biometric security solutions. We had an excellent first quarter, with very strong revenue. The
Company continues to move forward with new alliances, and the balance of fiscal 2001 should be very exciting for Identix. I
look forward to leading our management team in growing each one of our businesses, while driving our number one objective
-- enhancing shareholder value.''

The Company's Imaging Division was profitable and saw a substantial increase in revenue driven by strong demand for its Live
Scan products, as well as increased adoption of its customer service programs. Fiscal 2001 first quarter Imaging revenue
increased by 40 percent to $7.7 million, when compared to Imaging revenue $5.5 million in the year-earlier period. During the
quarter, Imaging continued to penetrate new Live Scan markets, as well as add to the installed base of existing customers.
According to Identix President and COO James P. Scullion, the Company's relationship with NEC Technologies continues to
expand, as illustrated by Live Scan shipments to NEC during the quarter for end-users such as King County, WA and the
California Department of Justice.

The Company's Government Services/ANADAC Division was also profitable for the quarter and showed strong revenue
growth, solidly affirming the steps taken over the past year to build the Division's management team and infrastructure to drive
and support growth. Fiscal 2001 first quarter Government Services revenue rose 18 percent to $12.3 million, when compared
to Government Services revenue of $10.4 million in the same period last fiscal year. Revenue for the quarter under the potential
$50 million five year contract with the Department of the Navy was approximately $2 million.

Revenue for the Company's Security Division was flat at $1.5 million, when compared Security revenues for the previous year's
fiscal first quarter. Shipments of the Company's DFR 300 miniature optical fingerprint reader during the quarter were less than
expected due to the late launch of the DFR 300, which came at the end of the fiscal 2000 fourth quarter. The late release of
production units caused purchases of the Identix biometric security solution PCMCIA Card, which contains the DFR 300, by
the Company's distribution channels to come later than anticipated, postponing shipment to OEMs including Compaq. This also
delayed adoption of this product by additional OEMs during the quarter.

Compaq recently announced the release of its biometric PCMCIA Card, which employs the Identix DFR 300 optical
fingerprint reader, as one of its Fingerprint Identification Technology (FIT) products. Compaq also recently began shipping
Identix's Windows 2000 BioLogon(TM) software lines to provide its users with heightened biometric security solutions.

Scullion said, ``The first quarter marked a significant milestone in the Company's history with the launch of itrust(TM), Identix's
end-to-end solution to secure e-commerce/m-commerce transactions. itrust is being positioned to be a transaction-based,
recurring revenue business. Motorola, our initial itrust partner, validated the itrust business model and confirmed its commitment
to Identix and our itrust secure authentication transaction management solutions, with an investment in Identix. We are working
diligently, to bring additional industry-leading strategic partners into the itrust model.

``We expect to showcase our itrust Authentication Server at Comdex next month in Las Vegas,'' Scullion continued, ``and we
believe itrust has the potential to become a defacto standard in controlling and managing secure transactions for users of online
services that require security, such as banking, securities trading, e-commerce, music and entertainment downloads, online
games, legal and business document transactions and exchanges.

``We believe that the outlook for our Security business is bright,'' Scullion said. ``We continue to see progress in the adoption
by large enterprises of our biometric security solutions. We are seeing growth -- small, but steady -- in the programs that are
already in place. Companies are moving from tens of seats to hundreds, as their confidence in our ability to supply a
cost-effective, convenient heightened security solution grows. The distribution by Compaq of our hardware and software
technology to 2,000 of Microsoft's sales reps has resulted in an increasing number of leads from potential multiple thousand
seat end users and we are entering new enterprises on a regular basis.

``We have grown and enhanced our management team to meet the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Obviously,''
Scullion said, ``the addition of Bob as CEO brings us a wealth of experience and insight into the enterprise marketplace. Bob
will leverage his 28 years of leadership and marketing experience, as well as his strong business relationships, to help drive
every aspect of our business to its highest level. Additionally, the promotion of Grant Evans to Executive Vice President, should
enable us to leverage his experience with our biometric security solutions to identify new market opportunities for our Security
and itrust business.

``The addition of Dan Dellegrotti as Vice President and General Manager of our Imaging Division has already paid off, as
demonstrated by Imaging's first quarter results. We have also strengthened our Human Resources Department and recruiting
capabilities with the promotion of Daniel E. Kenny to Vice President of Human Resources and Administration. Dan will be
instrumental in recruiting employees in preparation of the launch of itrust services,'' Scullion said.

Scullion said the Company's balance sheet is strong. As of September 30, 2000, the balance sheet reflected a current ratio of
2.9:1, working capital of $36.7 million, including cash and equivalents of $16.2 million, no long-term debt, credit lines available,
and shareholders' equity of $65.1 million.

Identix and Aether Systems Sign Agreement to
Develop e-Commerce Portal Employing Identix itrust
Secure Authentication Transaction Management
Services

LAS VEGAS, COMDEX, Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Amex: IDX - news), a worldwide leader in
providing biometric security and identification solutions, and Aether Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: AETH - news), a leading provider
of wireless data products and services, announced today that the companies have entered into a non-binding agreement to
jointly develop an e-commerce portal leveraging the strengths of both companies. The companies will demonstrate a prototype
portal at Comdex in Identix booth L1431. The portal will employ Aether's broad-based infrastructure of wireless applications
and services and Identix's proprietary software and hardware for biometric authentication technology; as well as Identix's
proprietary itrust user authentication, content control and validation, and transaction management services. Customers of the
portal would have the ability to conduct e-commerce transactions, such as bill payment, banking and shopping using Aether's
multi-channel infrastructure and Identix's proprietary end-to-end itrust secure authentication transaction management services.

``One of the biggest obstacles for e-commerce is trust. Knowing who you are dealing with is difficult when transactions are
electronic. Now that e-commerce is moving mobile, identification and authorization are even more important. Identix and
Aether through itrust are taking great strides to solve the trust issue via biometric authentication,'' said IDC Internet Security
Research Manager Charles Kolodgy.

According to Identix CEO Robert McCashin, Identix anticipates that wireless web users of itrust services will experience
end-to-end security every time they access or send sensitive or private information, with itrust services safeguarding web
transactions throughout every step of a process. Identix launched itrust in July 2000 with an initial investment in Identix by
Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT - news). Through its itrust solution, Identix intends to control content and manage secure
transactions for users of online services that require security, such as banking, securities trading, e-commerce, music and
entertainment downloads, online games, legal and business document transactions and exchanges.

Commented Rod Stambaugh, Aether Vice President of Wireless Commerce, ``Identix has clearly established itself as a leader
in biometric security and Aether is eager to identify and leverage areas of mutual benefit.''

Identix Executive Vice President Grant Evans said, ``We established itrust to dramatically and positively impact wireless and
wired Internet transactions and communications. We are working with Aether because they are a leader in wireless portal and
m-commerce solutions and services, with an ever-expanding base of mobile users as customers. As a partner in itrust, we
believe Aether would provide many unique and developed mobile commerce wireless portal services, helping us to provide a
broad based infrastructure of multi-factor security for the growing population of wireless commerce users.''

Aether demonstrations at Comdex in Identix booth L1431 will include the following pilot projects showcasing Aether's wireless
commerce portal and related services under the biometric and multi-factor authentication security power and protection of itrust
infrastructure:

-- Aether Personal Commerce Portal-24 -- hour wireless access to financial
      management and payment aggregation

-- Mobile downloads -- secure downloading of information and entertainment
      wirelessly

The agreement signed by the companies provides a basis for continuing collaboration and joint demonstrations of pilot products
while working toward a binding agreement.

Identix Biometric Physical Access Control Systems
Selected To Secure Facilities Across the U.S. for
Major Prison System

LOS GATOS, Calif., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Identix Incorporated (Amex: IDX - news),
the worldwide leader in providing biometric authentication, security, and identification
solutions, today announced that its biometric physical access control systems have been
selected by a major prison system to provide heightened security for prisons across the
country. According to Identix EVP Worldwide Sales Valerie Lyons, the prison is
incorporating Identix's biometric access control systems to assist the prisons track the
movement of prisoners within each facility on a real-time basis. The solution selected by the
prison system combines a mag-stripe card and Identix's V20 biometric access control
device. Identix's biometric solutions enable each prison to tie the magnetic stripe card to the
prisoner via an embedded fingerprint template in the V20 access control unit. Fingerprint
verification allows each prison to track each individual prisoner's movement though the
various facilities within the prison. The initial order for more than 100 V20 units shipped last
week for numerous prisons across the country.

Since cash is not allowed in prisons, prisoners use mag-stripe cards as a means of
conducting commerce transactions. By requiring the prisoner to use their card in conjunction
with their finger when moving through the prison, each prison is able to track the location of
each prisoner at any time. Identix's underlying software platform enables prison officials to
authenticate each prisoner, to set authorization policies and procedures to control which
prisoners can access which facilities and manage the times access is allowed or denied to
each individual prisoner. Prison officials can also generate an audit trail of reports to verify
where specific prisoners were at any given time.

``We are pleased that many different industries are embracing the benefits of our biometric
hardware and software technology,'' said Identix Chairman & CEO Robert McCashin.
``This technology has been available from Identix for years. Everyday the applications where
it can be used to enhance security continue to expand.''
