Appointment of Exploration ManagerThu, 16 Feb 2012 13:01:00 +1000       1 hour, 24 minutes ago

BAUXITE RESOURCES LIMITED ABN 72 119 699 982 ASX/MEDIA RELEASE 16 FEBRUARY 2012 APPOINTMENT OF EXPLORATION MANAGER U Bauxite Resources Pty Ltd (ASX: BAU) (“BRL” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Neil Martin as Exploration Manager to head the Company’s exploration team. The appointment of Dr Martin has been made after a targeted executive search process throughout Australia. Dr Martin will play a key role in the development of exploration programs across BRL’s substantial exploration tenure in Western Australia.

The Company considers its tenement holdings to be prospective for bauxite and a range of other selected minerals. Prior to joining Bauxite Resources, Dr Martin worked for Jabiru Metals as Chief Geologist and Exploration Manager where his team discovered the Bentley high grade copper, zinc, silver and gold deposit north of Kalgoorlie. He was a key part of the management team that in a period of six years developed Jabiru from a junior explorer into an established mining house before it was taken over by the Independence Group in a transaction valued at ~$500million in mid 2011.

Dr Martin has held a number of other senior management positions including as Project Manager with QGX Ltd, focusing on base and precious metal exploration in western Mongolia. In this role he was largely responsible for design and implementation of regional geology and exploration programs in that country. Dr Martin has a Bachelor's degree and a PhD in geological sciences and is a member of the Geological Society of Australia, Society of Economic Geologists and the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.

Mr Scott Donaldson, Chief Executive Officer, commented: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Martin as our new Exploration Manager. He is a senior and well respected exploration specialist with over 24 years of experience. This appointment is in line with our strategy to enable BRL to fully explore and exploit the other minerals potential on our extensive tenement package and help us towards achieving our target of transforming BRL into an integrated exploration and mining company." NEW FELICITAS BAUXITE DEPOSIT REVEALS
SIGNIFICANT BAUXITE EXPLORATION RESULTS
Key Points:
• First assay data from new Felicitas bauxite prospect suggests potential for significant resource.
• Consistent bauxite horizon over 2500 Ha in area and from 2m to 16m in thickness.
• Thin overburden cover of less than 2m throughout majority of the mineralisation area.
• Low reactive silica with favourable available alumina to reactive silica ratios.
• Close to existing heavy rail infrastructure in existing quarrying area.
• JORC bauxite resource estimate expected in June 2012.
Bauxite Resources Limited (ASX: BAU) (“BRL” or “the Company”) is pleased to provide an update on bauxite resource definition activities in its southwest Western Australian tenement area.
An exploration drilling campaign was completed on private farmland north of Wundowie, Western Australia, late in 2011 with the aim of defining additional bauxite resources. This work was carried out on exploration tenements E70/3159, 3900 and 4021 (see Figures 1 & 2) which are within the Bauxite Alumina Joint Venture (“BAJV”) with Yankuang Resources Ltd (“Yankuang”).
Final analytical data for the program was received by BAJV during February 2012 and a preliminary review of the raw data by BRL geologists suggests that the mineralisation may add significantly to current geological resources. A resource estimation study has been commissioned by BAJV personnel to be undertaken by a reputable external consultancy. BAJV expects to provide a JORC resource estimate in June 2012 once geological modelling is completed.
The exploration program comprised 3,406 vertical holes drilled for 22,941.5 metres across an area of approximately 2500Ha on a nominal 80m x 80m drill pattern. A preliminary view of the data shows that significant bauxite grades and thicknesses are present over a large area, with approximately 55% of holes containing available alumina grades of greater than or equal to 25% over greater than 2m thickness. The mineralisation starts from within 0.5m of surface and bauxite thicknesses of up to 16m were intersected. (Refer Table 1 for significant intercepts.)
The study area is focused on a small number of large private landholdings which are accessible by road and are less than 5km from existing rail infrastructure. The area is bounded to the west by state forest, to the north and east by existing quarry operations and to the south by farm land.
Preliminary examination of the bomb analyses received to date indicates (for analyses greater than 25% available Al2O3):
• Total alumina within bauxite of up to 57%
• Available alumina in the range of 25 - 56.5 % (arithmetic average 35.1 %)
• Available alumina:reactive silica ratios in the range of 2:1 to 319:1 (arithmetic average 12:1)
• Reactive silica ranges from 0.1 – 15.4% (arithmetic average 2.7%)
• Above results from low temperature analyses at 143oC
The mineralised zones are shallow with limited overburden.
The assay results quoted have been achieved without the aid of beneficiation processes aimed at removing contaminants such as clay and quartz through a simple wet-screening process, which would aid in upgrading the available alumina content and reduce the reactive silica content prior to processing. Beneficiation testing of material from the study area is planned to commence once resource analysis is completed.

haeb mir mal wieder 20 K ins Depot geholt.

Bauxite Resources Limited Exploration for Gold, Iron Ore and Coal
2004-2012 Asia Business News PL. All Rights Reserved.

Perth, Australia (ABN Newswire) - Perth-based bauxite explorer and developer, Bauxite Resources Limited (ASX:BAU) is pleased to provide an update on exploration progress for non bauxite minerals within its exploration licence tenure in Western Australia. The Company holds granted and pending exploration licences over an area of approximately 25,000 km2 in the highly prospective Darling Range in the south west of WA. The Company has two significant joint ventures for bauxite within this area and has retained rights to 100% of other minerals within its licences.

The Company is investigating the geological potential for non-bauxite commodities within the current tenement package. Multiple areas have been identified as potentially prospective for gold, coal or iron ore based on the Company's mineral targeting dataset and geophysical data obtained from the Geological Survey of WA. Due to the success of the work to date and the large data set that has been generated, the Company geologists have recommended that further review is justified.

As a consequence of the initial review results, the Company has decided to rationalise its tenement package in both the south west and the Kimberley. The Company has applied for an additional exploration licence in the south west of WA where the review has identified a possible sedimentary basin with a similar geophysical response to known coal bearing basins and has relinquished a number of other licences in the south west and the Kimberley.

The Company will immediately commence further exploration activities designed to refine a number of potential target areas and to confirm geological models. The majority of the work will be low cost being conducted 'in-house' by Company geologists and will initially target the following outcomes;

1. Complete the compilation of data into a digital format for the two most prospective gold areas near Yerecoin and Beverley.

2. Carry out initial low level field activity designed to validate potential iron ore (haematite) targets.

3. Continue investigations into geological logging data from historical drilling made available by third parties.

Summary of Review findings;

GOLD:

The review identified a number of target regions in known greenstone belts, and areas with potential to contain remnant greenstones based on geophysical interpretation. Potential was also recognised for epithermal gold similar to a number of documented old workings. Individual target regions have been grouped into five broad geographic or project areas, namely Jimperding, Darling Fault, Boddington, Balingup and Biranup.

Points to note;

- More potential has been identified than envisaged and further review is required to properly assess and refine the areas identified.

- Initially, work will focus on the Jimperding project area, within two regions of interpreted greenstone, each ~50km long.

- Work will be carried out in house by BRL geologists and will focus on the incorporation of publicly available open file reports with GIS datasets with the aim to further refine the data set in order to identify specific geological targets within the areas identified.

- Geophysical data for the Biranup area is not yet available and no further work will be carried out in that area until the Geological Survey of WA has released aerial survey results early in 2013.

IRON ORE:

Iron ore targets based on geophysical interpretation were identified with a wide geographical spread across BRL tenure. It is believed that all may relate to magnetite bearing units, while two will be followed up with low level field work to investigate the possibilty of haematite mineralisation.

COAL:

Possible coal target opportunities were identified principally based on geophysical signatures. Potential targets included:

- A Department of Water ('DoW') drill hole with coal identified in the logging.

- A number of interpreted sedimentary basins that may be investigated for the potential to host coal.

- A target west of Katanning was not within BRL tenure and the Company has immediately applied for an exploration licence over this area.

Priority areas of interest will be further assessed during the December 2012 quarter and an update will be provided once that work is complete.
