Standard & Poor's will kick out of its S&P 500 Index ($SPX) the seven non-U.S.-based companies and swap them with domestic corporations, per its selection criteria. S&P will kick out the following companies after the close on July 19: Royal Dutch Petroleum (RD), Unilever NV (UN), Nortel (NT), Alcan (AL), Barrick Gold (ABX), Placer Dome (PDG), and Inco (N). The following will be added: United Parcel Service (UPS), Goldman Sachs (GS), EBay (EBAY), Electronic Arts (ERTS), Prudential (PRU), Principal Financial (PFG), and SunGard Data (SDS). Also, Goldman Sachs will replace Nortel in the S&P 100 Index.
