L'AQUILA (dpa-AFX) - Die führenden Industriestaaten und Russland (G8) haben die aufstrebenden Volkswirtschaften wie China und Indien für ein wichtiges Klimaschutzziel gewonnen. Das sagte US-Präsident Barack Obama am Donnerstag beim G8-Gipfels in italienischen L'Aquila.
Die G8 wollen, dass die Erderwärmung im Vergleich zum Beginn des Industriezeitalters auf zwei Grad Celsius begrenzt wird. Dem Ziel schließen sich die übrigen acht wichtigsten Volkswirtschaften der Erde an.
Dies sind China, Indien, Brasilien, Mexiko und Südafrika, außerdem Australien, Südkorea und Indonesien. Keine Verständigung gab es bei dem Treffen über konkrete Klimaschutzziele./nr/rom/DP/dr
