New Chinese study indicates novel coronavirus did not originate in Huanan seafood market
A new study by Chinese researchers indicates the novel coronavirus may have begun human-to-human transmission in late November from a place other than the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan.
The study published on ChinaXiv, a Chinese open repository for scientific researchers, reveals the new coronavirus was introduced to the seafood market from another location, and then spread rapidly from market to market. The findings were the result of analyses of genome-wide data, sources of infection and the route of spread of 93 samples of the novel coronavirus collected from 12 countries across four continents.
The study believes that patient zero transmitted the virus to workers or sellers at the Huanan seafood market. The crowded market facilitated the further transmission of the virus to buyers, which caused a wider spread in early December 2019.
According to the researchers, the new coronavirus experienced two sudden population expansions, including one on January 6, 2020, which was related to the Chinese New Year's Day holiday.
An earlier expansion occurred on December 8, implying human-to-human transmission may have started in early December or late November, and then accelerated when it reached the Huanan seafood market...
It turns out that in all of China there is only one. And this one is located in the Chinese city of Wuhan, which, of course, is the epicenter of the epidemic."

“....A peak may come at the end of this month for the whole country but it won’t necessarily indicate a turning point,” Zhong Nanshan, a respiratory disease expert who led research into a treatment for SARS, told reporters in Guangzhou earlier this week. “The epidemic could have a new peak after people travel back to work.”
The last sentence is predicated on two major assumptions:
that workers will decide they want to return to work; and
that they will consider the outsized risk to their lives from returning to work as lesser than the threat to their livelihood from not receiving a salary.
And what happens if they all refuse to come back?.....

Für die Provinz Hubei meldet China 349 neue Infektionen, doch die Stadt Wuhan (in Hubei) allein meldet 615 neue Infektionen. Da fehlt offenbar die Feinabstimmung.

...China's Hubei province said it has 398 New Coronavirus Cases As Of Feb 23 and 149 New Coronavirus Deaths. Overall, China reported an additional 409 coronavirus cases across the entire nation, and 150 additional deaths as of February 23 vs. 648 additional cases and 97 deaths on February 22. This brings the total number of cases across China to 77,150, and total deaths to 2592.
None of these numbers are even remotely credible any more, and serve merely the propaganda purpose of giving the impression that Beijing is winning the war against the spread of the Coronavirus, when in reality nobody has any idea anymore what is going on on the ground in China, and is why workers refuse to show up to their place of business. Consider this: two days ago, WaPo reporters pointed to a clear case of manipulation where the authorities suppressed the true number of cases.
Authorities in Hubei province reported good news Thursday: There were only 349 new coronavirus cases the previous day, the lowest tally in weeks. The bad - and puzzling - news? Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, reported 615 new cases all by itself.

Boeing Forced To Buy Rocket Parts From Russia For New 'Made In USA'
It's really a love-hate relationship with Russia.
As early as 2014, the Pentagon admitted it "has no great solution" to reduce its dependence on Russian-made rocket engines.
The US received a new batch of Russian RD-180 and RD-181 rocket engines in 2018, despite the US Treasury slapping tough new sanctions on the country.
At least 40% of Russian titanium aircraft parts have been sold to Boeing in the last several years. Russia has since threatened to halt titanium exports to the US.
We noted if Russia banned rocket engines and titanium aircraft parts to the US, it would paralyze Boeing.
...Sputnik News reports that Boeing's new CST-100 Starliner, the program that has been in development since 2011 to replace the Space Shuttle, uses Russian-made parts.

Südkoreaner wollen keine Quarantäne-Patienten in ihrer Stadt
