VPER - NEWS Viper Networks and Aequitas Energy Announce Successful Electric Service Launch in Connecticut

Viper Networks, Inc. (PL) (USOTC:VPER)
Intraday Stock Chart

Today : Friday 1 February 2013

Viper Networks, Inc. (Pink Sheets: VPER), a minority owner in Aequitas Energy, is pleased to announce that Aequitas Energy, Inc., a licensed Connecticut electric supplier, officially launched their retail electric service in Connecticut January 25, 2013.

Due in part to Aequitas Energy"s highly competitive generation rate per kWh, the immediate response during the first week has been greater than the company anticipated.

For both leading power companies in the state, Connecticut Light and Power (Cl&P) and United Illuminating (UI) respectively, Aequitas Energy is offering residential and business customers a fixed rate of .0739 cents per kWh through December 2013 with no early termination fees for residential customers.

To review the competitive positioning of Aequitas throughout the State of Connecticut for residential and small to mid-sized commercial customers, see the company"s fixed-rate offers at the Connecticut Energy Info center at www.CTEnergyInfo.com.

Out of approximately 40 competing companies or plans, Aequitas Energy ranks first, second or third in total monthly savings amounts across seven service categories covering residential and business customers.

In May 2012, Viper Networks announced that Aequitas Energy was projecting their retail electric service entry by year-end. After meeting all federal and state regulatory and licensing requirements, and contingent testing requirements for new power connections prior to launch and service roll-out, Aequitas Energy is now ready for rapid growth in Connecticut with comparable plans to be announced for Massachusetts, and other deregulated states in the northeastern U.S. region and beyond.

For well positioned companies like Aequitas in deregulated states like Connecticut, the transition for new customers is seamless since service remains uninterrupted and continues from their existing electric utility company. The change of the customer's supplier to Aequitas Energy will simply be listed in the "supplier line" featured on their regular utility bill. Government regulations require that current utilities must back up the energy supply of the customer's
new provider.

Alert:LED COMPANY MERGER IN THE WORKS:

Viper Networks To Conclude Due Diligence On Attractive LED Acquisition Candidate By Month End

Viper Networks, Inc. (Pink Sheets: VPER), announces that the Company expects to conclude their preliminary due diligence on a U.S.-based, profitable LED company that they have been in acquisition talks with (as announced 1/30/12) by March 31st.

As previously announced, the Company has been proactive in their pursuit of well positioned, profitable LED industry acquisition candidates and has earnestly continued merger talks with two U.S.-based firms since early 2012; one of which specifically provides compelling synergy to Viper Networks' emerging business within the LED lighting sector.

Shortly after the conclusion of the Company's due diligence, Viper Networks will release a closing date projection (expected in mid-April) that they expect final negotiation terms and conditions to be consummated by.

Interested parties should note that these are amicable discussions propelled by strong mutual benefits and final acquisition terms are expected to include a combination of cash and stock.

In reviewing Company news during 2012, shareholders and investors will quickly see Viper has been busy establishing solid alliances within the LED industry along with key agreements designed to generate industry-leading margins and facilitate large scale growth initiatives in new global markets.

This major alliance with LEDs America has led to key agreements for Viper Networks in a North American  sales  and  marketing agreement, global exporting arraignments, supplier status and manufacturing rights, and multiple foreign country territorial exclusivity agreements.

Another emerging alliance is Envirolite Corporation and their PowerDisc™product that can extend the life of incandescent and halogen bulbs by up to 10 years. The Company's reseller agreement has already led to Viper Networks initial success (i.e.TBA) with targeting one mass merchant in North America for nationwide  sales.

More details about the other potential acquisition, which is in the energy distribution sector, are expected shortly. For additional information, please visit  www.vipernetworks.com.

Except for the historical information contained herein, this press release contains forward-looking statements that involve risks and uncertainties. Actual results may differ materially from the results predicted and reported results should not be considered an indication of future performance.

Attorney General, Consumer Counsel
Alert Consumers To Lower Electric Rates

Attorney General George Jepsen and Consumer Counsel Elin Swanson Katz are alerting consumers to new lower electric generation rates that take effect Jan. 1, 2013 for residential and business customers of Connecticut Light & Power Co. and United Illuminating Co.

“This is a good time for Connecticut residents to carefully examine their electricity bill and to compare generation service providers for the best rates,” said Attorney General Jepsen. “Investing a little time now in comparison shopping could reduce monthly electric bills in the year ahead.”

Consumer Counsel Katz cautioned, “There are many competing providers of electric generation services offering both fixed and variable rates. Consumers should re-examine the terms and conditions of their current service before renewing their contract in light of the new lower standard offer service rates being offered by CL&P and UI.”

Under changes approved recently by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, CL&P’s generation service rate for residential customers will drop by about 0.7 cents to 7.615 cents per kilowatt hour and UI’s rate for the same service will fall by a little more than a cent to 7.697 cents per kilowatt hour. Business customers will see similar reductions.

For the average residential customer who uses CL&P as their electricity supplier, monthly generation service charges could drop by about $5 a month. Similar UI customers could see a drop of approximately $7.50 per month.”

Consumers who are shopping among competitive electric suppliers seeking the lowest possible rates should compare the CL&P and UI standard offer rate to competitive supplier rates. UI’s rate is firm for 2013; CL&P’s rate is firm for six months and will likely be adjusted slightly for the second half of the year.

Generation supplier services account for about half of a customer’s total electric bill. Delivery services account for the remainder.

The Attorney General and Consumer Counsel also cautioned consumers to be informed about terms and conditions imposed by alternative generation suppliers who may advertise a lower short-term or variable rate or impose termination fees on customers who seek lower prices elsewhere.

“Be especially cautious if a supplier cannot or refuses to explain clearly how you will be charged after the expiration of any introductory rate, and for the duration of the contract, so that you can compare rates,” Katz said. “Be sure to ask about terms and conditions such as early termination fees before you sign a contract.”

Jepsen urged consumers to file a complaint with PURA about any supplier that misrepresents its prices, terms or conditions of service.

More information about electric generating rates and choosing an electric supplier can be found at www.ctenergyinfo.com and selecting “Choosing an Electric Supplier,” or by calling PURA at 1-800-382-4586 .
