Im Kampf um den Bananenriesen Chiquita steht dem Orangensafthersteller Cutrale Group die Tür nun zumindest wieder einen Spalt breit offen. Der irische Bananenhändler Fyffes, mit dem Chiquita sich zusammenschließen will, habe dem US-Unternehmen die Erlaubnis erteilt, Cutrale einen Blick in die Bücher zu gestatten, teilte Chiquita am Montag in Charlotte im US-Bundesstaat North Carolina mit. Damit solle dem Unternehmen die Gelegenheit für ein verbessertes Angebot gegeben werden. Für den 17. September geplante Aktionärsversammlungen von Chiquita und Fyffes sollen nun jeweils auf den 3. CHARLOTTE (dpa-AFX) - Der Bananenkonzern Chiquita hat weiter keine Lust auf eine gemeinsame Zukunft mit dem Orangensafthersteller Cutrale. Das jüngst auf 14 US-Dollar je Aktie angehobene Übernahmeangebot des brasilianischen Konzerns sei unangemessen und nicht im besten Interesse der Chiquita-Anteilseigner, hieß es in einer am Donnerstag verbreiteten Mitteilung. Der Verwaltungsrat habe dies einmütig festgestellt. Chiquita zielt damit weiter auf einen Zusammenschluss mit dem irischen Konkurrenten Fyffes. Durch die Fusion entstünde der weltgrößte Bananenanbieter./he
