Omega Protein Corp. is a nutritional ingredient which develops, produces and delivers healthy products throughout the world to improve the nutritional integrity of foods, dietary supplements and animal feeds.
The company produces and markets a variety of products produced from menhaden including regular grade and value-added specialty fish meals, crude and refined fish oils and fish solubles that are sold primarily to animal nutrition markets.
The company operates its business through two segments: Animal Nutrition and Human Nutrition.
The Animal Nutrition segment consists of two subsidiaries: Omega Protein, Inc. and Omega Shipyard, Inc. The Human Nutrition segment operates under the name Nutegrity, which comprised primarily of three subsidiaries: Cyvex Nutrition, Inc., InCon Processing, L.L.C., and Wisconsin Specialty Protein, L.L.C.
Omega Protein was founded by John A. Haynie and Thomas Haynie in 1878 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.
