The Bellevue, Washington-based company said it had net income of $1.87 per share. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs and to account for discontinued operations, were $2.87 per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.67 per share.
The owner of Redbox DVD rental kiosks posted revenue of $608.6 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $594 million.
Outerwall expects full-year earnings in the range of $7.49 to $8.49 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.29 billion to $2.42 billion.
