TUCSON, AZ, May. 20, 2004 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX) -- Fidelis Energy, Inc. (FDEI) , an oil and gas company dedicated to developing North America`s energy resources, today announces that the " Archer-Whitney #1" well discovered natural gas at the North Franklin Project. The well has reached total depth of 8,000 feet where a suite of electronic well logs was run. Based on a review of the logging data the Company and the operator of the project elected to run casing. Further testing of the gas bearing pay zone will be conducted during the well completion phase.
The North Franklin Project is located in the Sacramento Basin of California and is situated along the " Eastside Winters Stratigraphic Trend" which has produced in excess of 450 Bcf gas. The objective gas reservoir at North Franklin is in the Winters Formation. Fidelis has acquired a 35% interest in the play. The other partner in the play is Silver Star Energy Inc.

Fidelis Energy, Inc. (OTC BB: FDEI), an oil and gas company dedicated to developing North America`s energy resources, today announces further details of the new gas discovery made at the " Archer-Whitney #1" well at the North Franklin Project. The announcement was made today by Frank Anjakos, CEO of Fidelis Energy.
Archer Exploration, Inc. of Bakersfield, the author of the gas play is currently calculating gas volumetrics and potential reserves with new data provided from the well. Resistivity and Sonic logs showed clean sand pay with 100% gas fill-up within the pay zone. The operator of the North Franklin Project, Longbow LLC is currently contacting gas purchasers and pipeline companies to determine the cost of tie-in of the well.
Fidelis and Longbow LLC will announce initial production rates, gas quality and details of the upcoming flow testing. It is estimated that the completion phase of the well that includes perforation and flow testing will occur over the next 2 weeks.

Fidelis Energy, Inc. (OTC BB: FDEI), an oil and gas company dedicated to developing North America's energy resources, is pleased to announce that work has commenced at the Comanche Point heavy oil project. The 400-acre lease is located in Kern County, California. The announcement was made today by Frank Anjakos, CEO of Fidelis Energy, Inc.
The Company has advanced funds to the operator and is starting to implement the first phase of a steam-flood extraction pilot study. The initial program will involve steaming between 4 and 6 existing production wells. Phase 1 of the program will be fully implemented by July. Due to the successes of other oil and gas operators near Comanche Point extracting oil from similar sands using various steam methods, it is believed that the pilot study will drastically increase production.
Recent third-party engineering studies of the sub-surface oil sands underlying the lease have estimated total reserves at over 5,000,000 barrels, and the recoverable reserves to contain 2,100,000 barrels of heavy crude oil at depths ranging from 400 to 700 feet below the surface in Etchegoin Sands.
