was heißt "boondock" ???

Wenn ich Dir DAS uebersetze, verstosse ich gegen die Forumsrichtlinien...  

Ich versuchs mal anders zu formulieren: roftlgmapf!  

 

echt? Also boondocks heißt sowas wie urwald, das hab ich bereits rausgefunden
...und es gibt einen Film der heißt "The Boondock Saints" (und der ist nicht zensiert *g*)

...also kanns doch eigentlich gar net so schlimm sein, oder?

..., daß es dieses Wort nur im Plural gibt? Der Film wurde doch anscheinend frei mit "Der blutige Pfad" übersetzt, oder? Also ich hab nur das gefunden:

Für die Einzahl "boondock" liefert es keinen Treffer.  

Beispiel:

When American GIs returned from Asia at the close of World War II, besides Victory they brought home a   new word to add to the lexicon -- "boondocks". It is derived from bundok the Philippine word for mountain and decribes a place that is remote and inaccessible.


 

it means  the back of beyond,  the sticks,  way far out from civilization

it came to USA from the army who were in the far East during world war II

but I know it as a word used a lot by Australians - which is perfectly reasonable as they have a lot of the Malaysian words in their vocabulary - and they have a very large "outback"

By the way it is also the name of some sort of Pop Group
