MME AG: Positives EBIT im ersten Quartal 2003 - Rückkehr in die Gewinnzone

Hamburg, 29. April 2003: Die MME Me, Myself & Eye Entertainment AG erzielte im
ersten Quartal 2003 ein positives Ergebnis vor Zinsen und Steuern in Höhe von
10 TEUR (Vorjahresquartal -299 TEUR). Das Ergebnis vor Zinsen, Steuern und
Abschreibungen (EBITDA) lag bei 107 TEUR, das Ergebnis vor Steuern (EBT) bei 62
TEUR (-211 TEUR). Der Konzern erzielte ein Ergebnis von 64 TEUR. Der Umsatz
betrug 4,3 Mio. EUR (4,9 Mio. EUR). Das Ergebnis pro Aktie beträgt 0,01 EUR.
Die Vorfinanzierung von großen Event-Produktionen Ende März belastete das
working capital. Daher reduzierten sich die liquiden Mittel vorübergehend um
0,8 Mio. EUR auf 7,4 Mio. EUR. Das Personal wurde im ersten Quartal um 23 auf
51 Festangestellte per 31.03.2003 reduziert.
Neben den erfolgreichen Formaten Top of the Pops (RTL) , The Dome 25 (RTLII) ,
Sample und Tracks (beide arte) wurden die Bravo Supershow 2003 (RTL) sowie die
McMega Award Show realisiert.
Nach der erfolgreiche Restrukturierung der MME AG und der Rückkehr in die
Gewinnzone erwarten wir für das aktuelle Geschäftsjahr bei einem geringeren
Umsatzniveau ein leicht positives Ergebnis und einen positiven Cash Flow.

MME produziert BBC-Erfolg - "Unsere Besten"

BBC format to find the greatest German
German public broadcaster ZDF is to repeat the success of BBC’s ‘Great Britons’ and ask the nation: ”Who is the greatest German?” ZDF licensed the format of the interactive show from BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, and is to launch the nation-wide debate later this year. ‘Unsere Besten,’ (‘Our best’), the current working title, will be co-produced in Germany by ZDF, BBC Worldwide and Hamburg based production company MME.

‘Great Britons’ led to months of lively public debate in the UK as the British audience put forward their candidates for the top 100, watched the top 10 being advocated by well-known Brits and finally cast their vote for the ‘Greatest Briton’ of all time. The widespread interest was reflected by high ratings, with the final attracting more than three million viewers.

‘Unsere Besten’ will follow the format of the BBC show, with a proposed two-month nomination process and a launch programme to present the top 100 and introduce the top 10. Each of the nation’s ten favourites will be backed and promoted by a famous German over five consecutive episodes and a special programme will be devoted to the grand finale.

Viewers will be able to cast their votes - from the initial top 100 through to the final - by telephone, SMS and through the Internet.

Mark Young, managing director BBC Worldwide, Europe, Middle East, India & Africa, said: ”This is our first co-production of an entertainment format with ZDF, and the concept could not have found a better home in Germany. It will be a very exciting show, if you only think of all the strong candidates: Goethe, Bach, Luther, or perhaps Marx, or Gottlieb Daimler or even Franz Beckenbauer?”

Dr. Thomas Bellut, Programm Director of ZDF, added: ”Unsere Besten” will be educational as well as highly entertaining. To let the audience vote for the greatest German in history will be one of ZDF’s top events at the end of the year
