In England ist man ausserordentlich enthousiast op Dortmund
This was a brilliant opening game. For almost 70 minutes Dortmund seemed at least one class, if not two, ahead of Hamburg, I was watching the game and couldn´t believe both sides play in the same division.
And to Hamburgs credit they are a quality team but Dortmund was a class of their own. Especially Mario Goetze was a pure joy to watch.
Dortmund are a really good ream aren't they!! brilliant exciting football. Bayern have improved, but it seems like their still going to have to have a brilliant season to challenge this team of Wunderkinder.
If there is any competition to Barca ta being the most attractive team to watch in Europe, this Dortmund team is.
They were unbelievabe last season and my word, yesterday, they were special even if Kagawa was feeling his way back.
Watching this team play seems like I am watching something rather special.
And I say all this being a Bayern fan
80,000 attendance, cheap tickets, a genuinely competitive league (5 different winners in the last 8 seasons), exciting football, great fans, exciting national team = I love German football
To state that BvB plays like EPL teams is only partially correct, as I don't remember any current or recent EPL team playing the fast, slick and direct passing game that the BvB does for 60-70 minutes. Maybe the Liverpool and ManU teams of old, but these guys are a revalation.
I wish England had a 19 year-old like Goetze - or a 20 year-old or a 21 ....
So Dortmund is the new Arsenal, I see.
Not really. They won the title last year and have a very decent chance of doing so again.
An excellent performance by the BvB, particularly Mario Goetze who, at 19 years old, certainly puts the hype surrounding Jack Wilshere inio perspective.
Also, I commend the Guardian's decision to give the Bundesliga precedence over the Championship. It's nice to see this paper willing to challenge the parochialism of some football watchers.
